Robert is a master at teaching the fundamentals of Boxing and it showed tonight when Lopez who has even been labeled a journeyman by some, nearly pulled off a huge upset vs Keith Thurman. Robert is IMO the best trainer in Boxing right now.

Or Keith is just very overrated. But ye Garcia is good at teaching fundamentals.

Lomas dad is the best trainer in boxing, the man invented a new style and made it p4p 1.

Robert is super legit. I think becoming a champion so young, along side Fernando Vargas, who was basically an adoptive brother, was a PhD education in the sweet science, as well as another PhD in the dangers of fame/money/women, and the risk of injuries and burn out. I'd recommend anyone interested check out an interview he did with Chris Byrd on Youtube several years ago. It was a fascinating glimpse into one of the best brains in combat sports.

Robert was an awesome fighter in his own day, intelligent, hard hitting, and he had hand and foot speed to burn. I don't think its a coincidence that he's groomed Mikey into a sort of 2.0 version of himself. What I mean is, Mikey is sort of like a version of Robert where all of the old flaws have been ironed out. Its actually really, really cool.

He definitely knows how to get the most out of his guys. I honestly thought Lopez was on his way to an execution tonight, but I'm happy I was wrong an we got a competitive fight :)
