Maybe he is calling it a "green print", because this tactic have not been proven to work against Mayweather, but it may do..

It all sounds good on paper, but Mayweather by the numbers is probably one of, if not the, most accurate puncher in history. Making his miss is hard feat. Also, forcing him to the ropes isnt always a guarantee that you will opportunities to hit him.

Mayweather's fights often follow a similar pattern...1) he starts out by moving away from his opponents (willingly the majority of the time) and by the end of the fight, his opponent is the one moving away and Mayweather is coming forward. 2) He throws less and lands more.

The youth and strength of Ortiz are factors, but Mayweather is brain is far greater than Ortiz's braun. All fighters will face physical advantages and/or disadvantages, but Mayweather's boxing iq is always the determining factor.

I think whats compelling about this fight is Floyds assertion that he will be coming forward and will not backpedal. To some this spells trouble for Floyd and may well be an advantage for Ortiz. I personally think an aggressive Mayweather is Ortizs wost nightmare. Mayweather is one of the best I have seen at fighting in the pocket and he is supremely confident in his ability to inflict damage up close. Better yet - he now seems to relish fighting up close. I have always thought that Mayweather fights better when he is not on his toes unlike De La Hoya who always fought better when he was on his toes. Ortiz reminds me of Fernando Vargas a lot in terms of his boxing style and temprament. They have the same boxer puncher style. If Ortiz fights an intelligent fight I do see him having some success and he will land shots if he backs Floyd up. However, Floyds timing is still the best in the business. You see that routine he does with uncle Roger where he touches the pads while Roger moves around in circles ? Thats Floyds secret to maintaining his timing. Roger understands Floyds rhythm best. I am looking forward to this. I wonder what Oscar will have to say if Ortiz loses ?

While I agree that Ortiz needs to fight an intelligent fight, the very LAST thing Ortiz needs to do is get into a boxing match with Floyd. The minute that happens the fight is over.

Ortiz needs to apply intelligent pressure EARLY in the fight. Make it into a dog fight and try to rough up Floyd. Ortiz needs to land some BIG punches early in the fight before Floyd can adapt. Once Floyd has figured out Ortiz' style, its over.

That fight wouldn't help Ortiz anyway. This is an experienced Floyd now.

I agree, but he's older now, and I'm giving my opinion on how to attack this older Floyd. You're totally right though. Ortiz has a big obstacle in front of him.

What the **** is there about this miraculous Jab I hear about? LMAO are you dumb ****s so stupid that you believe a jab alone will win a fight?

THERE IS NO BLUEPRINT no one knows how to beat him... so you saying a jab is needed is all speculation on your part....

It takes a special fighter to beat him, that brings a lot to the game not just a jab...

Ortiz has many advantages over mayweather that will help him win..

Size, speed, power, southpaw, mentality at 150% because of recent hardships, hunger, young age, workrate, Mayweather 16 month lay off, not having a competititive fight for years because of picking on Old man mosely and little JMM...

Now because of these advantages will Ortiz definitely win? NO! but he has a graeter chance then JMM, mosely, hatton and alot of recent opponent had... we just gotta wait and see if Ortiz many advantages will be enough.

This is not the only way to beat Mayweather.

Have you ever seen Mayweather in with a tall, slick fighter, with a great jab?

There is your answer right there...

Make Mayweather come foward if you want to humanize him. The only guy that I could forsee doing this was Vernon Forrest.

If Floyd would have fought Vernon Forrest instead of Oscar, he may have a loss on his record.

    It's hard to say...

Other than that, I think a guy like Armstrong, Aaron Pryor, and Roberto Duran would all give him problems.

The problem with Ortiz is he's going to be big target when he comes foward which will make it easy for Floyd to land on him.

The three guys I mentioned who would have fought Floyd inside, are more difficult targets to hit.

No, having a good jab alone is not going to be enough. However, any fighter who does *not* have a good jab is *not* going to beat Floyd unless the guy is a natural LHW. And even then I'm not so sure...

Ortiz' Southpaw stance and mentality are *not* going to be advantages he can exploit in this fight.
