Yeah, I got that too...I hope it isn't going to be a catchweight, seriously, Green needs to start fighting legit CW's at the CW weight or move down to LHW.

If Flores is expected to/has agreed to come down to 84kgs for this fight, it will be another bull**** win for Green :patsch

The Commission also revealed that it had met with Green's next opponent, American BJ Flores, to discuss a few "concerns" with him, namely his weight.

Flores will clash with Green at Challenge Stadium on November 17 for the same belt.

"One of the concerns was whether or not he would be able to meet the weight which is not unusual in boxing," Watters said of Flores, who is normally about 7kg heavier than Green.

Despite being slightly overweight, Flores assured the commissioners that "he would meet the weight and we have no reason to doubt that", Watters said, before reiterating the fight would go ahead.

I hope they release the information to the public :)
In any event, thank the Lord for the Freedom of information act ;)

"All the details of the fight and the circumstances leading up to the fight should be made public so West Australians can see how this sham was ever allowed to happen," Mr Travers said.

Mr Travers, you're talking my language.

...and perhaps he should have added 'and so it's never allowed to happen again'.

spot on CHB.. i like this Travers guy and i agree with everything he says about this problem, if these guys are not exposed and named, shamed, criminal charges or what have you then its only going to occur again.

if you dont give two shts about the sport then look the other way but guys like Travers clearly do give two shts and want to put a stop to it now.

Our sport in australia is slowly sliding down the **** slide and if the powers that be do not do something and regulate these *******s it will only contuine to fester and grow and kill the sport even more. Boxing deserves more than this but if we treat it like a mugs game then we will be treated like mugs with the politicans.

The leading names in aussie boxing need to support a change but they are the same people that are causing the problem within australian boxing.

Mr Travers may not have the votes of those he wishes to exposed but he has my vote because i love the sport of boxing and i dont want to see it die, i dont want to see MMA topple boxing, i want to see boxing evolve but i think im better off trying my luck in the lotto each week because ive got just as much chances of winning the lotto as there is with change to boxing.

A complete overhaul of the australian boxing system is needed, from the amateurs to the pros imo. so called champions should not be allowed to choose who they wish to defend their title against, mandatory defences have to be put in place to keep the sport in check and to allow the up and comming boxers a fair go in the sport.

The bodys that dont have mandatorys should be banned and not even allowed to run as an organisation because they are nothing more than a sham! Unfortunatly Australian boxing state titles have also become apart of this sham i feel. How else can a guy whos only had 2 fights and lost them both fight another guy for the state title? it just goes on and on and on and tarnishes the sport, those in the boys club wish for it all to be sweept under the carpet and are the first ones to cry foul when the finger is pointed towards them.

WA boxing commission is a prime example lol, passing the buck onto briggs when they are the idiots who sanction the bout, they failed to see why NSW didnt sanction the bout and as someone has already mention, they basicly cleared the fight over the phone lol.

If the law doesnt eventually expose these guys, the freedom of information act will ;)

    listen TCockhead.

all you have to do is turn up at an amatuer night, weigh in and you will get matched against same experience and weight. if you are too old for that, and you recon you cant get a pro start, then you are as full of **** as all of us here believe you are.
