Just looking at their open work out its clear that Fedor still has a clear advantage, people now simply dont realize that Fedor was much much better in his younger and hungrier days. Prime Fedor would have dominated everyone in the UFC today. I'd have prime Fedor a heavy favorite over Carwin, Lesnar, and Mir but I'd have him even with Cain and only a slight favorite over Dos Santos. I might even make Cain a favorite when I see how his prime unfolds.

Fedor's technique for pulling subs (like Coleman armbar), dominating top guys at their best games (beating Nog on the ground and beating Crocop on the feet) and producing brilliant KOs (the punch that finished Brett Rogers was sublime) are light years ahead of the comparatively uncultured savages that dominate today's heavyweight scene. Fedor had a wider skillset in his left bollock than Lesnar and Carwin have in their entire bodies, he would have way too much in his locker for better but still limited fighters like Barnett, Bigfoot, Overeem and Werdum, and he had even more magic in his wand than the current top guys like Velasquez and dos Santos, who rely too heavily on one thing (Cain on wrestling, Junior on boxing). Big Nog and Crocop were both better than anyone around today in terms of ability, and Fedor ****ed both of them up. He was a genius.
