Anyone remember the courageous little lightweight, Arturo Frias
    from the early-1980's.

A tough brawling boxer who kind of fell into the 'right place at the right time' scene.

His wild One-Round Title fight with Ray 'Boom Boom' Mancini was
    an action-packed thriller.

    kikibalt,,,,,

Thank You for sharing those great photo's.........:thumbsup

Arturo Frias,,,,,,,,,the man had the coolest proboscis,,,,

He owned Thursday Night Fights at the Olympic Auditorium.

Was undefeated there, and went 20-0-0.

I remember his battle with Mexican Hot Shot Knock-out artist,,,, Juan 'KO' Graciano,
before he got the shot at the WBA Lightweight Championship.

    kikibalt,

What was the deal with those 2-bouts Arturo had with Ernesto Espana.

The first one in Caracas, Venezuela (May 1981) and the WBA Title Fight in January 1982.

    Both results were controversial,,,,,,,,,,,'mucho disorientato'

I don't know nothing about their fight in Caracas. I was at the Olympic whe they fought there, I had a guy fighting on the card. I was in the dressing room during their fight so I didn't see it. I don't remember as to what happened that the fight was call a TD.

Arturo 'Frito' Frias vs Ernesto Espana (January 1982)
    WBA Lightweight Championship Fight.
    * Arturo Frias vs #1 Ernesto Espana

Technical Decision in the 9th Round.

Arturo suffered a nasty cut on his cheek, as a result of an intentional head butt
    by Ernesto Espana.

Scorecards favored Arturo,,,,,,,,,,,but the WBA Officials got their corrupt hands on the
cards and tried to do a little South American addition.

Another tough exciting LW at around the time of Andy Ganigan mentioned in the previous post above this one, him and Pryor would have been an exciting 1 or 2 round fight to have seen, much better than the 99% of the bums Pryor fought.
