I generally agree with this assessment, however, Fedor is on the fat side, even Liddell, never really had a six pack, either does BJ, the bottom liine however is results. If a fighter gases out because he's out of shape, it's his own damn fault. On the boxing side if his punch out put is low, same thing. But look at James Toney, he's fat, but damn he's got skills.

As for Rampage, the guy's what in his late 20's or 30's? He should start acting like a man, and not some over aged teenager. And he should be providing his fighters with technical and pyschological advice rather then using the same ol titties joke over and over and over and over again..It might have been funny the first time, but the humour was lost long ago..instead it became vintictive and downright pathetic after awhile. If I was White, rather than telling titties that he had to accept it from Rampage I'd be telling Rampage to start looking in the mirror and focusing on results. Cause if he had a fighting win-loss record like he had a coaching win-loss record he'd be on the streets.

The point of training as a professional fighter is to WIN FIGHTS, not to make it so you look like an action figure. If they train in such a way that they don’t gas and lose because of it, then they’ve done a 100% good job. If anyone from this season of TUF needs to worry about their cardio it’s Shivers and McSweeny who were both horribly gassed after one round and, incidentally, didn’t have guts or tits.

How many fights has Nelson lost from gassing? How about Schoonover? How many NFL linemen are fat as hell? What happens when big guys get paid to PERFORM and not to look like they do in your dreams is they don’t waste time doing jumping jacks and eating carrots, they work on important techniques and eat what they need to recover and be successful. Maybe some of these guys hit a wall and need to go to a nutritionist at some point, but if they don’t need that (and clearly to this point is his career Nelson doesn’t) then why the **** would they waste their time?

I think you’d be better off watching ******ed pro wrestling or lame homoerotic bodybuilding where everyone looks great but there’s no emphasis on what you can actually do in the real world. Real competitive sports don’t have a swimsuit competition.

Only if you care about how they look more than how they fight. I want to see a good fighter beat another good fighter, period. I (and any real fans) could give a **** how they look.

Liddell and BJ are in shape but not body beautiful so I have no issue, though when REALLY dedicated both have quite impressive physiques.

    I see a 6 pack:

James Toney has skills but his weight has lost him numerous fights because his stamina is based on defence and pacing himself. Plus his balance is often terrible. Not to mention his feet are sometimes rooted in the ground simply cos he is too fat too be continously light on his feet.

I've always been critical of Fedor's fat BUT it's acceptable. He's in shape (cardio wise) and he performs at a high level. The guys I'm talking about are disgusting.

Looking like an action figure is a by product of good training and is often indicative of how dedicated you have been in camp. The guys I'm talking about are gassing, do have poor balance cos you can't control their weight, they aren't eating right etc etc etc

Skills and being/looking in shape are achievable together ESPECIALLY when you are an athlete!

Not every fat fighter necessarily gasses. You can have a good heart/tank but it can still effect other parts of your game like balance. Some guys are so fat they can't even hold a proper guard cos they can't tuck their elbows in properly.

The weight effects each fighter in a different way BUT one thing is for sure, if they got the skills and are also in top shape then they will simply be an even better fighter.

I want to see good fighters dedicated to their sport. That doesn't just mean skills. Plus, you are talking alot about skills but I sure as hell know their balance isn't 100% if they've got a big belly/titties that they can't control. Same with their guard. I know their guard isn't nice and tight (be it boxing or mma) if they are too fat to tuck their arms in. I sure as hell know their game will suffer when theres nothing left in the tank.

Like I said, this isn't about being body beautiful. It's about being in shape. If you've done your hard miles, gym time, eating right then your game will step up a notch and you'll look the part as well.
