Some of us had long had Opetaia on our radar. If you slept on him and missed his slow but steady rise to prominence as a standout on the otherwise barren Aussie scene, that's your problem.

Oh and Briedis may have been competitive with Usyk but he still lost clearly, and didn't run him any closer than, say, USS Cunningham ran Fury.

 

What? What does Lomchenko has to do with anything? You couldn't be more wrong - I don't give a damn about Lomachenko. My main interest is HW boxing. But it's not surprising you are so dead wrong about predicting things. Your boxing prediction and analysis are equally lacking.

How exactly do you imagine Fury beating Usyk, exactly? Fury has pillow fists for his size and weight. It took him 11 rounds and 150 power punches to stop a slow, walking punching bag Wilder. Usyk has a granite chin - Joshua landed cleanly on him more than once, Usyk didn't even flinch. So knocking Usyk out is out of the window. So let's see the other aspects. Is he faster? No. Does he have better technique? No. Faster hands? No. Better movement? No. Better balance? No. Better defence? No. Better stamina? No. Better ring IQ? No. There's literally no single aspect of boxing in which Fury is superior to Usyk. He is bigger and heavier - which means sweet Fanny Addams against a guy who feasts on bigger guys and who schooled Wlad in sparring. Usyk has been sparring with Ivan Dychko who is ordered to lean and clinch him. Just look at Uyk's Fa and Modugno fights and what Usyk does with bigger guys trying to clinch him. Joshua also tried to lean on him - Usyk shoved him away like he was a sack of potatoes. Fury will gas out even faster if he tries to catch Usyk, and even if he manages somehow to clinch, Usyk will punish him for it instantly.

Cunningham gave hell to a 10 years younger, faster, lighter and fitter Fury. What do you think Usyk, who is ten times the boxer in every possible respect than Cunningham ever way, will do with the knocked-kneed, fat oaf? He will never catch Usyk, he will gas out just trying to track Usyk's constant head, leg, hand and torso movements. Do you think Fury is a good mover and fast? Usyk will make him look like a fat Bambi on ice. Fury was absolutely gassed against a stationary target Wilder and only further deteriorated since. He visibly became slower and slower after the second Wilder fight.

Usyk is everything Fury has been desperately trying to avoid all through his career. He will take Fury's belt and artificial 0-loss record away, as well as his pride, his confidence and his fake "no man born from blah blah" bravado. He will end Fury's career - there will be nowhere to go for Fury in the boxing world. He will be a broken and beaten man at 35, trying to deal with how to save the shambles of his brand built on the fake "unbeatable Gypsy King" image, because he will have been beaten by the very same man he and his family have been trying to denigrate for over a year. And I will be here, to laugh at you and remind you for years to come how the "middleweight midget" took away everything Fury ever cared for in his professional life. It will be a glorious thing to witness because it will represent so much more than just a boxing match. It will be a good man beating a despicable man. It will be a humble, calm, collected, respectful man beating an erratic, loudmouth, lying drug cheat. It will be pure boxing skills defeating lame clinching tactics. What a glorious sight it will be - provided Fury will be man enough to take the schooling, and won't run away scared to have yet another lame cash-grab sparring session against a non-boxer in a chicken cage.

 

Fury is going to grab hold of the 36 year old midget and eat him alive. YUM YUM YUM.

AJ doesn't know how to lean on opponents, fight inside or do anything of note yet Usyk still had to put in work to deal with the little physicality that AJ brought. Chisora brought more physicality but yet again nowhere near the level that Fury can bring. You're right Usyk did bump AJ off him like a sack of potatoes it was hilarious. Fury will crush his spine and cry to the ref about it. Usyk's clinching defence involved dipping low with his shoulder. Fury is going to wrap his big orangutan arms around and mother him. Big Momma Fury.

Fury is going to crack this midget with a 1,2 that sends him reeling during the first 4 rounds then he'll decide what round to crush him in. Easy WORK. EASY. PEASY.

Fury can't believe his luck. A middleweight for undisputed...but even he knows the excuses will fly out of the gate after he's dealt with him. "Too small" "too old" "injured" you name it.

Usyk is already starting to flap just because Fury is taking his time getting $100m from the Saud's. I thought Usyk was a patient humble man who is on the path of god...nah he wants a big payday and to retire...he said it himself a few weeks ago that he retires after this bout regardless...

Yep Opetaia was much better than expected sometimes it's hard to gauge our boys in Australia due to lack of competition. I personally had Briedis winning but it was a close fight. If there was a rematch I would favor Briedis coz like you said it took him a while to get going if he started earlier I think he might have stopped Opetaia late. I am actually concerned that this fight may have ruined Opetaia I guess we will find out when he fights next.

 

Briedis really is a genuine old school hard *******. He walked in to Opetaia's locker room after the fight to congratulate him lumped up and bleeding looked like he was taking a morning stroll after a brutal fight and was having a laugh with the Aussie's. All those years sparring in the Klitchko camp probably helped make him the savage that he is.
Dean Lonergan who is Opetaia's promoter said I am never putting Jai in with that animal again.

I like that you are honest about Fury - Big Momma Fury indeed, but only because of those dangling moobs

Fury will never catch Usyk - he couldn't catch a much-slower-and-much-less-skillful-than-Usyk Cunningham ten years ago. Big Momma is still moaning about it after all these years, "conger eel" and whatnot Cunningham broke him, he is still afraid of smaller fighters. There's a reason he never wanted to do anything with Ruiz and went after flat-footed plodders. There's a reason why he has been hell-bent on ducking Usyk. Big Momma, while blabbering about "no man born blah blah" in the media, was privately throwing a hissy fit to Warren about not wanting to face Usyk and wanting to fight Whyte instead as a tune-up. A tune-up, against a "middleweight midget"? You can't even make that up, even he himself doesn't believe all that nonsense he keeps blabbering about

He is still traumatised by a guy who made a failed attempt at HW and run circles around him. Usyk is everything Cunningham was, only ten times faster, mobile, agile and skilled. No amount of gak in the world will be enough for Fury to forget the humiliation Usyk will put him through. The whole world will see a clumsy, awkward, disproportionate blob trying to survive while a master boxer, a stick-and-move-merchant Road Warrior is taking everything that is dear to him round by round. Usyk will toy with him for the first few rounds, then get into a rhythm, generously allowing Fury to feel a bit more confident about himself around the 8th - only to turn the work rate up and slap the blob around with 70-80 punches thrown in the championship rounds, grinding down the very remains of Fury's shattered soul. I'd like the fight to take place at Wembley - that way it could later be referred to as the "Home Schooling" by Usyk

Fury will be first humbled, then defeated and broken for life. For his sake, I hope he has always been exaggerating bout his "men'al 'elf" things because the way Usyk will take everything from him will scar him mentally for life and I obviously don't want him to harm himself in any way after that. In any case, this is the Chinese zodiac year of the rabbit - but for Fury and his fans, it will forever be remembered as the ann*s horribilis when Fury was badly exposed and humiliated. It will be the year and the experience Fury will be always asked about in his later life. He will be a 400 lbs has-been with addiction problems, who will be invited to podcast shows only to have him talk about his experiences about coping in his "second life" after the "middleweight" destroyed everything in his world in 2023. Usyk will not only defeat him and end his career. He will stay with him, rent-free in his head, until the end of his life.
