The guys Lewis didn't beat

The problem with Lewis is htat he priced himself out of fights. He acutally was gonna fight Boew though, but Mccall KOed him from what I heard so that never happened.
As far as "his resume would be better than Alis"....well yeah.....but then would it be better than Alis if Ali never lost to Frazier,Norton or Holmes?

Understand what you mean, but Lewis is one of the rare Boxers to avenge both his defeats.

As for Bowe, the Bowe that beat Holyfield in their 1st fight would have been a great fight and a more or less even for me with slight edge to Lenny, Bowe was at his best here, but still had slight doubt after the Olympics final loss. He went downhill after the Holyfield win. Mostly his own fault.

Shame for Bowe he should be remembered for his ability and would be in my top 20

 

I don't think there's a boxer on here whose stock goes up and down as often as Lewis. One week he's a top 3/4 ATG, the next he's top twenty at best.

 

Some of those fights weren’t makable and certainly had little or nothing to do with Lewis’s own reluctance. And it’s a resume that would only surpass Ali’s if the McCall and Rahman losses didn’t happen

 

In fairness, I don't recall any clamour or particular interest in any of these fights at the time - bar Bowe, Wlad and perhaps a younger Tyson. I don't think there was much chance of those others happening, which is a game you can play with most fighters. In fairness to Lewis, he had a pretty stacked resume.

The early 90’s Bowe would have a great shot at beating him also. Especially the one from the first two Holyfield fights. We actually would probably see the Bowe that fought Gonzalez against Lewis because there was so much bad blood there. Lewis ISN’T walking through that. lol

No, the goalpost was that Wlad got KO’d by Rahman, Purrity and Sanders. So did Lewis against Rahman and McCall.
