Alright there Fellas. Thought this would make for interesting thread seeing as most thread's at the moment are Froch related and that's sore subject for me. What Habits have you have noticed in Boxing. From Boxers to Ref's to Mc's to Promoters. Inside and Outside the Ring. First up for me is Cotto always starts fights with back to fighter and when bell sounds he turns and goes to work. (2:12 mark) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecEVbJ7jklY[/ame] Dave Parris has this annoying habit of mopping his bald patch when his names called out (as seen below at 1:40 into video) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6cDaoxnDLY[/ame] I'm sure you eagle eyed observers will have some brilliant ones to add. :good:good
When Ryan Rhodes steps into the ring he ducks under the rope and then ducks back before finally climbing in...1:29 below [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_2GobVqjro[/ame]
I think that it is pretty deliberate and its Dave joking about reckoning to straighten his hair because he is on TV
At the first bell of every fight Joan Guzman does a little 360 spin in his own corner, looks cool and fancy. There is a fight when the opponent was on to this and came steaming across the ring only for Guzman to calmly duck the blow with hands by his waist (wish I could find it but cant remember the opponent)- seriously talented fat ****er is Guzman. The Naz flip over the ropes: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hLlQi1fnJs[/ame] (After the Barrera fight my brother blamed that Naz's mind wasn't set because he couldn't do his flip due to the gloves ) Don King and his flags: This content is protected And our very own Tony Bellew does a bounce off of two sides of the ropes before each fight: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWMiKOdLQGU[/ame]
Obvious ones i could throw in Hopkins X signal and Eubank having one glove on top of the other and looking at crown while up on ring. Cotto also has habit during fights while not engaging or in range to constantly push shorts down yet they never look to high up or in a mess like say Malignaggi's who has terrible trunks. Juanma does it as well...must be a Puerto Rican thing...
kos, you know the Hamed flip wasn't always done? In the beginning of his career he just used to jump over. I never realised til I put on his career set the other day.
Arthur Abraham does a tuck jump in his recent fights when his name is read out. I can relate to why he does it. Although he doesn't wake up until 5th round in some ways he needn't bother.
Paulie does this shoulder shuffle thing followed by his glove going across his neck when his name gets announced. At 1.09: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lvZLlbTb5s&feature=related[/ame]
