Gerald would have Hagler rocked and possibly cut very quickly but Marvin would do what he did against the Beast, fight through and come back.
    Hagler by 10 round stoppage.

This is innane stuff. There is no evidence that McClellan suffered the blot clot as early as the second round.

With a heavy dose of hindsight, you can see things if you re-watch the fight, that suggests knowing what is going to happen, than McClellan was showing signs of distress. But clearly, as you point out, at the time it was ridiculous to suggest such.

I went, and I walked out the arena pissed, as Benn had cost me money with his upset, and I was calling McClellan a quitter in my annoyance. It was not until late Sunday morning that I found out what had happened. Not my finest moment...

Gerald had exaggerated blinking at random times after the julian Jackson fights, and he had to stop a sparring session leading up to the benn fight after taking a light jab, at first gerald claimed he was thumbed in the eye to call it off but he later admitted in the locker room he was badly hurt. So it really happened before the benn fight but it was in the second where gerald took that huge rabbit punch that seemed to really hurt him for the rest the fight.
