  1. We arrived on Friday in Bremen and had a night out there which was pretty good...

Saturday headed to the Reeperbahn and got utterly soaked, also everywhere was rammed due to the very odd festival that was going on... due to our total lack of planning we spent ages trying to find a cab to take us to the Immtech without realising we were about 500 yards from the tube straight there.

On entering the arena I went straight for a **** whereupon there was a bloke standing by the toilet door singing **** on the Villa at the top of his voice, seemingly to no-one in particular, after jokingly threatening him we ended up having quite an entertaining chat about Alex McCleish and Carson Yeung :)

The fight was obviously crap. We were pretty far back but had a good view, and spent most of it talking to a bunch of Germans next to us. All the locals we met were nothing but friendly the whole weekend, incidentally. After bigging Haye up before the start (mostly in the interests of national pride) it was quite embarrassing watching things unfold. Also gutted I missed Ryan Aston, an excellent performance from him by the sound of it.

Transport was crap coming back but I think due to the disappointment of the fight I didn't really notice. Had a good night on the reeperbahn anyway, no aggro of any sort, locals were great and the travelling Brits we spoke to were all good as well.

So the weather and the fight were... unfortunate, but as boozy weekends away go I've had worse.

    i had a brilliant weekend

got there late thursday night so just got my head, id had a fair few beers at the airport as my sister works for BA and got me a cheap deal flying club class. Anyway, got up quite early friday for shitty breakfast and headed to the weigh in. got their about 10 and by 2 my feet were aching like **** but it was a great atmosphere and well worth attending. In the evening i headed down to the london pub where i had a few beers with a couple of lads from sheffield whilst i waited for my mates from coventry to arrive about 9ish. The lads were from the same area as Rhodes, said he looked like he'd been in a train wreck and had 3 cracked ribs. we headed to a few bars around the reaperbahn and ended up in some bar with an awesome jukebox and had about 4 albums of oasis playing. Grabbed a KFC at god knows what time and pressed on home, Great night.

On the saturday i made the mistake of popping down the London pub again for a few and ended up getting pretty wrecked, went to get my head down and woke up bout half 6 totally ****ed. i got myself together and headed down to the stadium. i didnt see much trouble except when queing fora beer and some bloke (i think was german) was constantly trying to push in and went 1 step to far when he got some angry scouse lad covered in ketchup, which in turn got a right hand and quickly scarpered :yep. The fight was disappointing but hey, what can u do. By the sounds of things i was pretty lucky as i got the 2nd shttle bus and the first train, still got drenched walking back to the hotel tho.

Sunday night was EPIC. we were just having a few drinks when we ended up in some phillipino Karaoke bar which was only 2 euro a beer. at first it was just us in there but in the end there was about 20 brits all singing along to some great songs and generally was a great craic.

suffering on the Monday, i pressed on down to hamburg Zoo, Aquarium and reptile centre, which if like me and u like these sort of things is fantastic. got back in the afternoon and thought i had to the london pub for a few farewell drink to find 2 english lads from burnley in there. Both were sound and just chattered bout the fight and abit of football. had about 3 hours sleep before i had to get up and make my way to the airport and altho a blinding weekend was happy to be home and have some decent grub

i found the germans who worked in shops/bars and that were fairly nice but other than that were ****s

after the fight me and one of my mates lost our other 6 mates as we wanted to atch the decision i was singing klitschko songs and a few english wanted to batter me...

anyway outside stuck in a bus shelter for an hour soaked decided to run to a hotel it was locked we asked a german guy where could get a taxi he was with 2 of his sons and he said "jump in i will give you a lift" he drove us all the way to the hotel we were eternally grateful and tried to offer him like 50euros lol but he wouldnt take any of it.

I found the Germans to be brilliant, never had any problems with them.

me and the wife had a great weekend top hotel right in the centre top tickets got on telly at the weigh in interviewed for the daily star(when published the article focused entirely on the seedy side to hamburg and not about the fight itself) so that pissed us off as we travelled to hamburg purely as boxing fans-daily star wankers!!!! we met and chatted with many pro's ex pro's and pundits ,but the **** poor effort of david coupled with the manic scenes and travel chaos in the worst rain ive been in for years put a big dampener on things-how the **** we made it back to the hotel was a miracale.i wish these mindless football fans would stick to football .at least the majority of them stuck to the reeperbahn where they belonged. p.s believe you me richie was pissed as ****!!!!
