Ali looked out on his feet after the cooper knockdown though an was lucky the bell rang so maybe the cooper left hook was a lot more powerful than the hook Frazier hit Ali with?
I remember it. The way he stiffened and went straight down. In fact there is some that say that that one single punch changed him forever.
Question doesn't mention P4P, so it's realistically going to be a heavyweight. We're not talking about the most impactful, as that takes chin and any surprise factor into account... "Hardest" is a simple question of force. So we might be talking about a punch an iron chinned fighter was expecting to just eat up (eg Zhang on Joyce) or one where a murderous pincher throws full force in a mismatch (eg: Joshua on Ngannou). There's probably quite a few that could be in the conversation, TBF, and we'll never know for sure.
OK, so I'm cheating here, but has there ever been a harder barrage of punches put together than the one that put Morrison out v Mercer. As Ricky Hatton used to quip, that was proof its not a tickling contest. Ray was indeed Merciless that night.
As a lot of the ones I was gonna mention have already been said (Lewis - Rahman 2, Foreman - Moorer, Martinez - Williams), I'll go for a brutal body shot ... Roy Jones and Virgil Hill.
Not a bad shout! Off topic - you looking forward to the Itauma fight? I have to say that I very much am.
Yea, should be a good scrap and it'll be interesting. At a minimum, the Itauma hype will finally have something behind it - or finish. Kid looks interesting, but this is a big step up and that's always fun.
