His smashing of the never previously stopped Carlos De Leon mainly. Granted he did little else and has no great power resume vs quite good fighters.

    John,

I got a nice story for ya.

"We matched Gerry against ST gordon in March 78. As the weighin Gordon says to him "You big white mother****er. Im going to beat you up. No white mans going to beat me." Gerry told him "You got a big mouth, lets see what happens in the ring." In the ring, Gerry hit him with a left hook in the second round. After that, the guy didn't stop running. In fact the ref bounced him( A fourth round Disqualification) for not fighting. Gerry was ticked. It was one of his first exposures on TV, and the guy wouldn't fight. He saw S.T later in a coffee shop at our hotel-almost went for him. "If you didn't want to fight, you yellow *******, you shouldn't have accepted the bout." Gerry told him. S.T said nothing. Gerry shut his mouth good"- Rappaport in Punch Lines by Phil Berger

S.T. Gordon was first on my mind. It could have been Cooper, but Cooper was pretty unmotived at Cruiserweight. He was pretty much unmotivated anyway.
