As I previously stated, it's not just about overall mass, but also how it's proportioned. Bugner had a much more lanky build than Foreman. His arms, shoulders and chest wasn't nearly as massive as Foreman's, which is why he couldn't put the same weight behind his punches.

Concerning Lyle, he certainly could hit. He wasn't quite as a hard a puncher as Foreman, but not too far away, which his fight against Foreman is a good testament to. Bugner thought Lyle was by far the most savage opponent he ever had, and Bugner was tough - went the distance with Frazier for example.

But that's beside the point, really. Velocity x mass=power - it's just a basic principle of physics.

Oddly enough, if we're talking pure power, I think we have to go with the smaller HW's like Marciano and Louis rather than the bigger one's such as Foreman, Lyle etc. The reason I say this is because men like Louis and Marciano could take a man out with short punches that were'nt thrown from left field ala the 2nd Schmeling and 1st Walcott fights whereas someone like Foreman clubbed people to death with wide swinging haymakers (Except for his fight with Moorer). Dempsey could also take a man out with devestating short hooks as could Frazier. That does'nt mean that they necessarily hit harder than brutes like Foreman but they best represented what true power is all about. No matter how you look at it though, a bullet in the head does just as much damage as a wrecking ball to the head and I would'nt want to be hit with either of them.

I agree 100% with everything you said. Good comparison at the end by the way.

I agree. Just out of curiosity, why do you think Liston had a harder jab than Holmes?
