You know that Povetkin was a prospect in 2008 who went life and death with Marco Huck 4 years later ?

Povetkin now is better than Povetkin 2008.

Valuev was a joke and Chagaev was OK.

2 great fighters in Wlad and Vitali doesn't make a great top 5.

You know that Povetkin beat Donald, Byrd and Chambers in 2007?

And that Povetkin today is visibly slower and stiffer than he was back then? You're aware that age is a real thing?

    A 50-2 joke with a WBA strap.

A joke that beat Ruiz, Holyfield, Liakhovich, McCline, Beck, Donald and Ettienne. He gave Haye and Chagaev all they could handle.

A joke with a better resume than Wilder :deal:

When the worst version of Povetkin is STILL in your top 3, and that he'd have a good shot of beating the other 2 top fighters, you know your argument has run its course.

Great? How so? Joshua, Povetkin, Fury, and Wilder, NEVER fought each other!

Yes its top heavy, AND unproven. Maybe by 2021 it will be a good division, or maybe 3 of the 4 guys on top you think are great now won't ranked in the top 10.

We'll see. History has a way of tempering your enthusiasm.

I’m just waiting for Uysk to move up and beat on everyone. Can’t see anyone beating him apart from maybe a Wilder right hand maybe just knocking out cold but besides that Uysk ain’t getting beat anytime soon unless age takes a toll or a elite prospect rises up soon.

And now, 17 months later, a fat lightheavyweight is the unified IBF&IBO&WBA&WBO heavyweight champion of the world. Aged well indeed.

The heavyweight division has been a joke since Lennox Lewis and those guys retired. It won't get better it will only get worse. A bunch of fat unskilled losers like Tyson Fury and skinny bean pole chicken leg guys like Deontay Wilder. These guys are completely without skill. Butterbean had more skill than guys like Tyson Fury and I am not joking. At least Butterbean didn't arm slap with his punches and throw back fist like coke addict Tyson Fury does.

I think he had the credentials to be no1, fast for a big man, strong, good chin, combo's. The only thing I can think of to change his attitude is hes been chinned in the gym, I cant think why hes not as confident as he should be apart from that. Is it a belief thing ?? I seem to think he was better when he fought Ruiz jnr, gamer attitude so to speak. I think head screwed on, he could be Usyks hardest test at Heavy down to speed and movement, although Usyk is better at both than him, hes a big strong tough 17 stone plus guy, I expect Usyk to have any easier time with the bigger guys, Joshua and even Fury, I think he unravels Wilder for a tko too

It will take some time to settle, it's still in transition from the Klitschko era towards the next big thing. Maybe some of the names we have now will transition towards the new era, which probably is about to start.

The Heavyweight division is OK-ish if you don't think too hard back at how good it was in the 90s or 70s.

I'd say today it's like a pantomime whose quality doesn't stand up to too much scrutiny, but can still entertain nonetheless.

One problem is the giants are too big for the rest. They're in a different division for the most part.

Even with great skills, unless you're at least 6:6 or taller and/or weigh 240 solid you're in a bit of a bind.
