Nah, it's not crazy. He's an enormously visible millionaire who flashes the cash in times of austerity. Do the math.
There are alot of crazy things. It's crazy how he's made tools out of so many people. It's crazy how they get all butthurt at how he flashes his money when they are a big reason why he's so rich.
Not that hard to see why. Unlike most other hated guys though no one says he sucks as a fighter. Everyone knows he is one of the best technical fighters of all time. The character of Money Mayweather is very unlikeable. He's a douche. Without it though, his style of boxing would never have made him half the money he has made. The man is an incredible boxer who has put crazy amounts of time into being the best boxer. It's too easy to pick a reason to not like him: 1. He acts like no one has ever come close to beating him and that he has fought the best. Neither are true. Injury or not, Castillo beat him. As for his resume, well, the 3 years he "retired" from the Welterweight division when it was hot tells you something. 2. His recent resume (oddly since leaving Arum) is a load of hot garbage and he admits to handpicking. Your road to Mayweather consisted of a win over either Berto or Mayorga. 3.He probably beats all the guys he is accused of ducking (not nearly as easily as he beat a scrub like Guerrero) but took the safe route. The reality is that most fighters in the history of the sport wish they could do the same. As fans, we (unrealistically) believe fighters should prove themselves and always fight the best. Boxing has never been that way, but people romanticize the past and think it used to be that way. 4.He has the slick boxer mentality, meaning he wants to dominate, look pretty doing it and tell everyone how easy it is. He wants people to believe that he and his life are perfect. The average boxing fan doesn't roll like he does...kinda annoying when someone flashes their cash and tweets all their winning wagers. 5. He hasn't been an underdog in ages... Americans love the underdog. Look at the 3 most hated teams in the NFL over the last few decades: Cowboys, Niners and Patriots...hmmm wonder why For the most part, they are haters and that is ok. Floyd and his team have created this and have profited greatly from it.
A man should never hate another man for what he has earned on his own skill, and dedication to that skill. People who hate for that reason are losers IMO. How can you ever be successful if you're just going to "hate" on those who work hard and get results? It's somehow a "bad thing" to want to show the nice things you buy to other people? (The fruits of your labor?) Ridiculous. Because that's the first thought I think of when a friend shows me something nice they bought: "What a dick." Seriously, people are envious and jealous of gain. That is the real truth and anybody who hates people for having nice things should take a long hard look in the mirror and ask themselves "why?" You know what I say when I meet successful people like Floyd? "Congratulations on your hard work and success." And then I go about my day to worry about my own success and how hard I need to work to achieve my goals.
Floyd is the greatest all time villain in boxing. People get most excited when Floyd fights a seemingly good guy like Alvarez. Good v Bad is the oldest script in the book and Floyd has done it better than anybody. A $41M purse for a defensive fighter is crazy. Hate him, but look in the mirror, you're Floyd's pawn, his public relations and his paycheck.
exactly.. he will stop the trash talk and give canelo his props after the fight win or lose and people will still bash him like everything he does is not just to sell fights (which is clearly working)
