Cmon people...(who ever you are) ....i went for Hatton too but its time to stand in awe of what Floyd did... i think some folks are forgetting that Floyd stared 130 FFS...!!! And if the fight had of taken place when floyd was at 140 the result would have been exactly the same... Hatton at 145 (on the night) was a weapon..he was well prepared and the extra wieght didnt slow him up at all...fact is Floyd was/is that much better...He got outboxed and out hussled and wieght had NOTHING to do with that left hook that was just pure boxing ability and nothing more...
hmm I think it was definately a disadvantage for Hatton to be fighting at WW rather than Jr.WW No I'm not taking away credit from Floyd. Like i said before the fight, Hatton called out Floyd when he was already at WW so of course its up to him to move up. But i still believe it had an impact. IMO having a strength advantage is crucial for a guy who fights like Hatton. At 147 he doesn't have it.
The same can be said with Floyd, he could probably make 40 if he had too. Hatton was just outclassed simple as that, and Floyd is too good to let a brawler that comes in wide open beat him. Class always beats crap, and in this fight, you saw two guys in their primes, (not one older former great fighter), facing each other and you see what a well schooled complete fighter does to someone who has a lot of holes in their game. It just goes to show you how well Hatton was brought along, because there was plenty of guys at welterweight that could have taken advantage of the mistakes Hatton has always made.
:good The weight certainly didn't help. I doubt the large ring and large gloves helped Hatton either (except for maybe when he was getting KO'd ). But generally I think Mayweather transitioned to 147 a lot easier than Hatton, and this is mostly due to the way that he fights, not because he's a naturally larger guy (which he probably is). I say any top 5 welter besides PBF beats Hatton: Cotto, Williams, Cintron, Margarito.
to be honest i doubt he would have had an advantage at 140 either I think if anything floyd would have been quicker ..anyways whats done is done
So Hatton is crap for losing to PBF? Maybe, if PBF isn't all that good. I would like to see you make it to ten rounds with Floyd. The fact is that Hatton left himself wide open because he was trying to get the KO. He had to get the KO since he was far behind on the cards. (Not as far as the corrupt judges had it though) You guys crack me up. If PBF lost then he would have sucked. Hatton lost so he sucks. I guess boxing IS black and white but in a different manner than the racists see it.
The whole floyd started at 130 is lame. DLH started at 130 too, so does that mean that if he ends up fighting Pacquiao a true p4p type fighter it would do anything to enhance DLH creds? The answer is no! It would actually hurt DLH. Floyds performance was good, really good actually, but lets be real, do you think Hatton can beat Cotto, Mosley, Williams, or even guys like Margarito? The answer again is no. Just like L. Merchant pointed out, Floyd took the easiest way to make the most money and thats fine, but see it how it is, not how you want it to be. He still hasnt proven hes the top dog at 147 thats a fact not an opinion.
Wrong he has proved it he did it by beating the linear champ Baldo and is the man at 147 period:deal BTW how did your usual prediction of picking aginst PBF go for you?:hi:
man pac odlh comparison is big stretch and a bad example.:rofl ..**** man floyd fought osca at 154 didnt he!!! osca vs pac is ridiculous case example as pac is still at 130 and osca is at 154 thats 24lbs for crying out loud!!! Thats a world of difference between Hatton Floyd...we're talking 5 pounds over here...and if you read my post and rewatch the fight you have to notice that being at 145 didnt make any difference to Hatton at all....he looked absolutley amazing. Floyd is just better...Floyd dominated him pure and simple and it had nothing to do with wieght on the night ...sorry it didnt. Personally Hattons down fall if anything was the reach advantage that floyd has...anyway Im right :yep
well there is some merit in what he is saying...I cant see the win over baldomere as proving that much to be honest...
It still doesn't matter. PBF is the linear champ at 147. He beat the man who beat the man. You can't take that away from him.
Mayweather had a clear size and reach advantage over Hatton. I understand this not his fault, but it is your fault not being able to see this.
