The Hatton Is A Natural 140lb Excuse Is Lame

No, Hatton is not a WW. However, Floyd is a very small WW. How many WW's walk around at 147? There have been plenty of posts about how Hatton was just too small. That clearly wasn't the case in this fight. It's common sense, I have no idea why alot of people on this board don't seem to get it.

 

Well, I definately wouldn't count him out against any of those.. And of course Hatton isn't as skilled as Mayweather. That's not the point. Floyd looked fine fighting @ 154 as well. How do you think Hatton would look then? Body type is a huge factor when moving up in weight.

 

Another question. If Hatton walking around at 180lbs makes him naturally bigger than Mayweather, then why after loosing the weight did he not look bigger than Mayweather.

De La Hoya started at 130lbs, yet fought Trinidad at welterweight. Don't even tell me when they shared a ring that Trinidad was a much bigger guy. I rest my case.

 

Of course Skill helps a fighter when moving up. I never saids it didn't. What I am saying is, it's NOT only skill that allows a fighter to move up successfully. Having the type of body that allows you to move up is a plus as well.

Mayweather walks around at 150lbs, Hatton 180lbs. In your eyes Hatton is the bigger man. Tell me why Mayweather was naturally bigger when they shared a ring?.

Ive explained it and will until I'm blue in the face. Hatton blows up between fights, Mayweather doesn't. Two different lifestyles. The bottom line is Mayweather is naturally bigger, and your thick little brain doesn't understand. Mayweather carries the weight better, why?. Because he's naturally bigger.

Come on now. If they fought @ 140 the same damn thing would have happened. I was rooting for Hatton but reading this stuff about Hatton being too small is really getting old, and somewhat embarrassing. Lot's of smaller guys have beaten big guys in the ring, Tyson made a habit of it early on.

 

Weight is deceiving. It has little to do with how "big" someone is. What you guys are basically arguing about is FRAME size. Example is someone like Jermain Taylor: The guy's got a MASSIVE frame, biggest middleweight I've ever seen. I still think he's bigger than Pavlik (although he gives up a little height). Look at his shoulders. A wrist measurement is also a good indicator of frame size.

So anyways, who has a bigger frame, Ricky or PBF? I can't say, I think they're basically the same size, although Floyd's a little taller. And this is basically why I've been claiming since before the fight that the weight they fight at wouldn't be a factor.

 

Floyd weighed 148 lbs. in that fight. He's been talking about fighting DLH at 154 since he was fighting at 135. The reason he looked fine at that weight was because of his sill level. Sweet Pea was smaller than Hatton and he won a title at 154 too. Fact of the matter is, there are two types of fighters who can effectively move up in weight, guys who can sweat themselves down to an unaturally small weight(Herns, DLH), and highly talented fighters whose skillset negate any disadvantages caused by weight(Floyd, Sweet Pea, Roy Jones)

Wheras Hatton is a scrictly one dimensional fighter, PBF has the ability to adapt to anyone's style. In addition, he is able to step up a gear when necessary.
