The "Haye is the defining fight in Wlad's career" myth

I think the Klits are for the most part crap when compared to their peers from other eras, BUT EVEN I KNOW THE KLITS HAVING TO FIGHT HAYE.....is even more crap!

 

Haye has done nothing at HW to deserve that much credit.

 

So, it would be no more impressive than what's often considered his best win. Yeah, alright. Haye has proven to be a top heavyweight. He is rated correctly, in most minds as the number three heavyweight. If the number one beating the number three is for no credit in your mind, I simply don't know what to tell you, Jenn.

 

Only thing Wlad gets from beating Haye, besides the cash, is justification that he knocked off an opponent who was only advocated as viable opponent because he was perceived to have the goods to knock off Wlad, who people cant stand.

 

Haye is ****.

Yet would still be Wlad's best win

Haye is black, so Americans will love him. He has zero shot to win any round against Wlad, and will be on a stretcher after the fight.

 

Don't know about career-defining, what will beating an ex-cruiser who hasn't done much at heavy prove? It will be a good win, with Haye being rated the third best heavy by everyone. Though he really hasn't done much to merit that rating, other than his win over Valuev. When you consider an ancient Holyfield and Chagaev beat Valuev much more impressively it puts that win into it's proper perspective.

 

haye win might be his career defining fight because the fight would be like a hollywood blockbuster...who cares if he beat samuel peter, when this fight would attract 10 times as many people...ITs not boxing fans that define legends but the general public...general public doesnt know who chagaevs peters or byrda are, but klitschko and haye are both popular so yes haye may be overhyped but the win would still definitely one of wlads greatest (if he wins of course...i wouldnt bet my house on it -i think hayes got a 40% chance for an upset here)

Holmes didn't have a defining fight, Cooney was a hype job. Holmes' greatness is not in one or two fights, but in dominating for seven years, which may very well be harder than beating an ATG once. Schmeling, McCall, Rahman have KO wins over ATG's, but neither of them could have been champ for seven years. As Frazier, Tyson, Dempsey could not. Greatness through consistency can easily be overlooked. Wlad is approaching greatness in this way, two more years at the top and he will have achieved something truly special.
