So I read a few threads about this subject but none of them hit the nail on the head, largely due to the bunch of idiots who still hold nothing but hate in their heart for what Klitschko has done to dominate the division.

Haye should not and no boxer should ever fight without payment. They're in their risking their lives, anyone disagree? Go take a look at Gerald McLellan - he was "lucky"

However, to fake a back injury and state that was the reason why he couldn't fight was plain stupid, had he come out and indicated that the deal he had with Setanta was now in jeopardy, the sponsors of the Chagaev fight could have sponsored the Haye fight instead and it could have gone ahead on the planned date.

However, he took the cowardly/lying approach - no one should give this sack of **** any credit for that. Haye best be careful if he signs against Vitali, I don't see him walking out of the ring under his own devices if he does.

What do you mean by "sponsors"? The sponsors are the promoters... I never did read about Chag's pay for the fight, but it must have been fronted by K2.

For Haye to participate and get paid, they would have had to re-write the contract which was, as I understand it, almost all tv-money based for him. And if K2 refused, he's screwed - contractually obligated to the fight and payment completely up in the air. It may have been considered just too big a risk to try to negotiate around the tv deal.

Don't get me wrong, I don't let Haye off the hook. He signed a VERY stupid contract. Credit for doing what was necessary to make the fight happen, but it was a dumb arrangement.

Haye's actions cost K2 money, I have little doubt of that. He's really quite lucky that Chag was able to step in and the gate was still a success, even if they did lose some HBO money; otherwise, K2 may have come after him for breach of contract. My guess is they were fine with a successful event and keeping Haye as a potentially lucrative future opponent.

Anyway, I think you're underestimating the complications in Haye being able to participate in the fight and get paid. Approaching K2 about his plight would have been pretty risky - they may have obliged, but who really knows?

the whole company setanta went bust. 200 people from my home town(n.ireland) lost their jobs.

ts a known fact that haye wouldn't have got paid for fighting klitschko. No boxer should fight for free and i'm sure that the whole situation was affecting his training. I think under these pressures its good haye didn't get in the ring less than 100 % and have to use excuses after

i think haye was stupid for lying when he realizes that people would understand the reason he didn't fight he'll feel like a dick.I personally think Haye would cause Wlad problems and he knows this. had a lot of confidence in the build up and would been since to watch that fight instead of an ill Chaguev.

Surely though this fight can be made again i would love to see them fight.

    I agree.

I have said it several times. Haye should have been more professional about the situation and talked to Wlad.

I know wlad would have figured out a way (with Haye) to save the fight and I think BOTH fighters would have gained a TON of respect for keeping the fight on track.

I think Haye and Booth showed their inexperience by panicking and faking the injury to get out of the situation

    The facts are these.

Haye gets KTFO out by either Klitschko in the first 3 rounds.

These fights are all about a quick cash in, so he can enjoy high life, while numerous women suck his small schlong.

    Who cares exactly.

Apart from the fact he does not appear in the W of Klitschko resume?

He has beat a 5 year journey man in Barrett and beat an even more shot fighter at CW. Aswell as beating some welsh **** who was always a complete nobody...

Haye is no one to me. Just a mouth.

Did I miss the point where it became established as a fact that Haye faked an injury?

well due to the fact that nothing has been givin to tean Klitschko or the press from any doctor confirming the injury plus the fact that Haye said he needed 8 weeks to heal as of June 7th (date be back out of fight) yet, according to Haye himself, he started training over 1 week ago (total of 20-25 days off instead of 56 days off) makes you wonder:deal

Why didn't haye pull out of the fight by saying he would not fight without being paid? It almost seems he freaked out in fear as the event neared, faked the hand, then back injury, THEN the Setanta money problems came along at just the right time.

haye has created two excuses to get out of the fight, when only one was warrented.

just like roy jones panicked and used two excuses after he tested positive in Indiana - ripped fuel AND the nasal decongestant. Only one excuse was necessary. When he used two , it became highly suspicious.

Vitali should absolutely not waste precious time with haye and not do haye any favors. If the fight is signed and haye talks his BS then experiences what it's actually like to listen to Vitali at the press conferences, and experience the staredowns, haye will get scared again and pull out. haye was most certainly impressed and intimidated by WK at their press conferences as WK showed a mean streak and disdain we never saw before.

it is up to haye to prove himself now, he should beat 2 or 3 top 10 hwts, then will be deserve a title shot. his worth and reliability aren't worth a damn after faking the back injury and bowing out of June 20.

Besides WK won the coin toss and haye should be for him to slaughter.
