It's a fight where I don't think any result will surprise me. Floyd could stop Hatton on cuts or something, Hatton could stop Floyd from relentless body work, Floyd could win on points (the most likely result), or Hatton could really maul Floyd over twelve rounds and take home a decision... or Draw. Nothing is going to catch me off guard in this one.

Because 24/7 makes Hatton look like a ****ing animal and Floyd look like a Prima-donna. Who do you think is voting on HBO.com? Casual fans, who have been turned on by the show. Do a poll on any boxing website and you will get drastically different results.

Thing about these results is, it will be Joe average voting for Hatton. They have only watched 24/7, begin to hate pbf, no nothing of previous fights the pair have had and vote for the more likable &, on face value, viscous(in the ring) man - Hatton.

That's a good point. I was trying to figure out WHY these results not only did not favor Mayweather UD by a WIDE margin, more people were voting for Hatton. To anyone who knows anything about boxing, this really does not make sense - Mayweather is the favorite, and for good reason.

I'm surprised. I would have thought Hatton would be a huge underdog across the board.

Floyd is a pretty good bet right now. The producers of 24/7 should be proud of their efforts to promote this as a 50/50 fight. I think Hatton can win, but he's no better than a 25% chance.

Long-term, I wonder if experienced gamblers will start to get giddy everytime one of these things gets produced, because it will skew the odds in a favorable direction for the bettors' favorite.

That's a good comparison to illustrate how wacky the odds are. I think Peter is 65/35 over Maskaev at the most (I give Sam the benefit of the doubt), while Floyd is at least 75/25 over Ricky.

    Ha. Lucky you.

I've witnessed first-hand how boxing odds can shift dramatically, even late, moreso than any other sport.

I flew out to Vegas for Morales/Pacquiao II, thinking Manny had a chance to stop Morales (based on the Raheem fight). Well, I checked out the odds on Thursday night after the books had closed with the intention of coming back the following afternoon to plunk down some cash on what was viewed at that point as a pretty even fight.

Big mistake to wait. Wouldn't you know, the Pinoys hit town in big numbers and did so much Manny betting that it totally screwed up the odds. He became a bad play. At that point I tossed down some coin on Morales (he was like +110 and Manny like -190!!) and also that the fight would last 11.5 rounds (+140). So I won, but not very much.

    Just goes to show.

Or it could be that they have seen both combatants engage and saw
PBF struggle with Zab Judah who Hatton's victim Kostya made his
personal ***** in under two rounds. Or, just maybe, it's because
"Joe Average" saw both warriors fight the magnificent Castillo in
epic battles. They saw PBF lose in the first encounter and barely
win the second. Meanwhile Mr. Hatton broke the ribs and the will
of the great Jose Luis Castillo in a brutal display of firepower and
precision bodypunching. Gosh darn, those plebes, minions, dudes
that actually work for a living and pay taxes having an opinion based
on what they saw transpire in the ring. How dare they? When they
can just ask boydsmith how they should think and what they should
    believe in.
