I can tell you've only ever watched the Hagler-Hearns fight. Anyone who has watched Hearns beyond that fight knows he'd be formidable opponent to anyone in this era. What makes you think GGG would be hard for someone who beat Duran and SRL? Who has 34 year-old-still-fighting-cans-Golovkin even fought to be mentioned in the same breath as a legend like Hearns? Golovkin will fight a few more janitors and cab drivers and then retire, consigned to the dustbin of history while Hearns will still be revered for decades to come.

The GGG hype is getting out of hand now.

At this point in time I would have to favor Hearns, and I would personally pick Hearns based on available information. Hearns is one of those guys who is theoretically an extremely tough draw for anyone, but he could be beaten. In this case, however, I feel Hearns' strengths match up well with Golovkin.

That said, I would certainly never count GGG out in this one. Golovkin can get creative, and I suspect we haven't seen the best of that ability brought out in him yet. So you can never discount the possibility that Golovkin finds a way to land flush, and if he does so he would have a good chance of stopping him. The reverse is true, too, however.

I think Tommy's the better overall boxer, and with his size advantage, reach advantage, power, and speed, as well as an often underrated ability to box well - I think his strengths match up well against Golovkin.

If I had access to a Delorean, that would probably be the first match I'd try and make if we could take Gennady back through time. I think it's competitive, explosive, and tactical with elements that include technical-chess-match combined with skills-out-the-window-slugging, both in good measure.

Hearns was waaaay too open and flawed defensively, waaaaay too fragile physically and waaaaay too reliant on power (which GGG is immune to by the way) for him to have a chance against GGG.

I liked Hearns, he was exciting and I enjoyed watching him blow away smaller guys all day. But you simply cannot substantiate your argument that he matched GGG. He didnt - and neither did Gerald McClellan.
GGG is a whole different level of boxing machine altogether. He would crush Hearns brutally in a few rounds.

To be elite you must prove it by beating the elite! Nobody on G's resume is an elite, therefore G cannot be an elite! Very good yes... elite no!

There is absolutely nobody on G's resume that leads me to believe that he beats the likes of Hearns, Hagler or Sugar Ray Leonard! Can you tell me what fighters G has beaten that makes you say G man beats these guys"

There isn't an equivalent to Hearns, on G's resume that justifies your statement!

I think any of the Fab 4 would give GGG a hard time.

But Hearns maybe the least of them. While his jaw isn' nearly as shaky as some think, Golovkin is excellent at cutting off the ring and forcing the fight at his favourite range. Hearns I believe could KO anybody with the right punch ... but he'd be eating Golovkin's shots too. And Golovkin is deadly accurate.

If it gets turned into a battle of attrition between GGG and Hearns, I pick GGG.

The definition of a fact: something that truly exists or happens : something that has actual existence or a true piece of information

If you're hoping on the last part of the definition, you are more of a troll than I thought when I first read this.

No doubt, Hearns, one of the greatest boxers ever, against, someone who hasn't cracked any list. Regardless you can't say fact because it can never be proven. Would it be? Most possible, but it wont.

    Based on what...?

Hagler lost to Duran yet got the decision.
He lost to Leonard...a blown up welterweight.

He struggled against a feather fisted Vito " The Mosquito" Antoufermo which ended in a draw.

Not that GGG has faced this level of competition yet but I do not see Hearns beating GGG....I don't think he would allow Hearns to measure him with the holding left then the wicked right!!!
