The winner will hold the lineage of victory over wlad. Beating Brewster doesnt redem much becaus ehe id damaged goods coming off a severe injury and loss, he was beaten by Sergei who was beaten by briggs who was beaten by ibragamov, that means more for the winner of the unification fights status. All the belts come from similair vacant elimination fights, none beat the real man.
The lineage of victory by one champ over another must mean something. Wlad became the manonb these boards by beating Ray Austin, lol. At least he was coming off a draw lol, whereas Brewster is coming off a loss!

If Wlad wins then Wlad is #1, if Lamon wins then Chagaev/Ibragimov winner is #1.

I agree with this. Never the less, the winners of Wlad/Lamon, and Chagaev/Ibragimov need to face each other while the WBC gets it's **** sorted. I mean, WBC title is looking like Peter-Maskaev, then the winner of Peter-Maskaev vs V. Klit....THEN the winner of Peter-Maskaev-Klit vs mandatory McCall!? Jesus!

Exactly...not too long ago I gave KLIT props for admiting he's not the true champ, just one of the beltholders. Now his attitude is changing, and his justification is probably going to be that the other champs are coming and going and WLAD is still here. In reality, this is legit justification to grant KLIT the #1 spot, but as you say it doesn't go far enough to make him the champion.

    Sultan has potential..
    Chagaev has desire..
    Maskaev has determination..

But on all of these qualities rolled into one..

    Wladimir.. More time served proven..

I think Wlad is recognized by most boxing fans to be the best heavyweight.

He's got work to do to make that definitive. Beating Brewster is the first step. Then he needs to face the winner of Chaegev/Ibragimov.

It looks like Vitali will be gunning for the other title, so Wlad will have to satisfy himself with three of the main four if he wants to go down in history with some decent standing (provided he gets by Brewster).

If he fights on after Vitali retires, then he should unify that belt as well.

The winner of Wlad-Brewster will be "#1" but no one can claim to be undisputed

unified means all 4 titles, but 2 at this point is a great step, and hopefully there will be more unification, like most people had predicted, without King it would happen.
