I don't see those names as serious potential. They are the tops names now.

    Jack,

It’s not only in the heavyweight division! The #1 potential ( future champion at ) Crusier weight is Chakhiev. The best current cruisers are Huck, and Lebedev, also from Europe. I would say Eastern Euro fighters are on top at cruiser weight.

The #1 potential guy at middle weight (and current WBA champ ) is Golvkin. He’s also from Eastern Europe. The #1 talent in The Olympic games in ALL divisions was Lomachenko, and he’s a light weight!

If Lomachenko goes pro, he is a near lock to win a pro title. So it’s not just the heavyweight division. When the top talent from the Olympics and world amateur games turn professional, they have a pretty good chance of winning an alphabet title. The one point I would agree with that you made is you won’t see any Eastern Euro’s winning professional straw weight titles. Very few men from Europe are under 105 pounds!

Where to start...few heavies over 220 pounds have top footwork. But since you asked Ibragimov was very quick with his feet. Amatuer star Dychko is 6'8", but he has the footwork of a top middle weight. Watch the films and judge for yourself.

Helenius and Dimitrenko were never rated in the top 5 in the world. Dimitrenko top 5? Never! Where did you read this? Adamek was champion at light heavy ( a divison you don't think Eastern Euro's are good at ), but in his prime he had good skills.

Who says Povetkin is 3rd best in the world now? A while back Povetkin was sharper. I think Pulev would beat Povetkin now on points, and Glazkov will beat him by 2013. Povetkin is on the slide.

You're implying top 5 - top 7 fighters in other decades had absolutely no flaws and were perfect technicians. Which of course is a bunch of baloney.

There were always 1-2 guys at the top and then a bunch of guys that are a 2-3 notches below the elite fighters. They were always too limited one way or another to give the king of the hill problems. This is nothing new, has always been like that and will always be like that long after the K brothers retire.

what are you smoking? there are tons of EE fighters(former USSR and EE to be more correct) in lighter weight divisions lol

just some names: Golovkin, Korobov, Pirog, Dzindziruk, Senchenko, Abraham, Proksa, Sturm, Stieglitz, Baysangurov, Martirosyan,Allakhverdiev, Postol

Of course there is more chance that EE would dominate heavier weight classes since they are mostly bigger guys, but it looks like Golovkin and Pirog can dominate middleweight too.

Not sure that Dimitrenko has ever been considered top 5 for any more than a fleeting period. He's been in the 8-12 range as I remember. Certainly after his loss to Chambers few would have tagged him top 5.

Yes but Jack likes to pretend that one of about 70 chaps that didn't fight for a World title in this era is somehow a bad reflection on it. He's a bit strange like that.

Perez is a guy who brings some excitement also, needs a fight badly. If Leif Larsen knocks over the the Kingpin we'll have another serious contender, big if of course.

HW does not have serious potential but I do like the fact that all the contenders are of similar level without one fighter standing above the rest which makes matchups that much more competitive... excluding the Klits but their time is nearing the end so......

HW bouts never did much for me though.. Too little action, not enough punches thrown, very little skills etc just dont float my boat..

Im excited about Amir Mansour and Tyson Fury though..

BTW Bryant jennings is nothing spectacular like so many make him out to be.. He's an Eddie Chambers level fighter.

Yeah, but you get knock outs. Personally I'll take a big HW knock out over a technical display from a lighter weight every time.
