Seriously could anyone watch last nights fight and not believe a prime Lewis, Holyfield or Tyson would absolutely destroy those two bums that were fighting? I know parakeets with more heart then "1 fast punch per round" Eddie Chambers. Povetkin didnt even win the fight. He didnt even hit Chambers! Chambers didnt throw any punches so the judges had no choice but to give him the decision. Atleast he had heart, and was going to go out on his shield no matter what the cost, Eddie Chambers looked like he was ready to go back to selling newspapers.

If those are the 2 top challengers then Im sorry, but the heavyweight division is trash, I might just start watching cruiserweight fights for that bull****. :hi:

The '90s heavyweights would have destroyed todays heavyweight, indeed. But the heavyweight scene isn't all that bad.. there are at least a few decent fighters out there... Klitschko, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Peter, Povetkin.

The only decent fighter in the heavy division... and it's hard to judge just how good he is when he's forced to face nothing but nothings.

Until things get better its the Heavy Waste Division to me !!!

No Heavy Weight match unless its against a Klitchko brother should ever be aired on HBO .They should all be broadcasted on ESPN !!

It's not trash. It's average. One elite boxer and a bunch a solid but unspectacular contenders. You want trash, look at 154 :yep

Yeah Wladimir is a good fighter, the best fighter right now without a doubt. But I wouldn't mind seeing Chagaev vs. Ibragimov or Chagaev vs. Peter, or Ibragimov vs. Peter :yep

I agree Klitschko is the only good heavyweight. I dont even like remembering the rests names, it shows too much respect. I should just say that average eastern european robot, or fat american newspaper salesmen guy when describing the heavyweight scene.

Lmao. Naw, that would just hurt boxing popularity. You'd have people who wanna get into boxing watching fat belly chambers throwing 1 punch around a dosing off in the middle of the fight. It should be on ESPN the ocho or something like tht.

i cannot beleive the crying that is going on about the heavyweight division on ESB.

don king has absolutley ****ed the heavy division, getting fighters stripped and his own men put in there place and then decent fighters have to fight all the spoilers don king signed and we had the merry go round recycled faces over and over and over.

now we get some new faces/new fights no don king and you are all complaining like mad.

what exactly is it you are all missing

    don king`s promotions ?

    john ruiz v evander holyfield 14 ?

yesterday you had a 14-0 prospect up against a seasoned 30-0 fighter, the 14-0 fighter wins and you all jump on him as boring.

i honestly wonder sometimes how much fights many of you have actually seen and been to and just what it is you want from boxing.

krasniqi v brewster and liakhovich v brewster were 2 as good as heavyweight fights you will see , yet they passed under the radar .

The Heavyweight division sucks with or without Don King productions, some of these Euro champs rather sit on there ass for almost a year until they get stripped, than fight the best matchups the fans want to see, it's like pulling teeth just to get them to fight there mandatory's anymore, guys like Chagaev, Vitali, and Maskaev should get just as much blame as King, if not more. It just seems like the talent really dried up in the 2000s, both American and Soviets seem to be getting bigger and less talented as a whole, and it seems to be a growing trend.

I agree Brewster was an extremely exciting fighter, it's just too bad all the wars he had throughout his career finally caught up with him when he faced Wlad for the second time. Brewster/Liakhovich was the best fight of 06 IMO, also the Krasniqi fight was good as well, when Brewster came back down on all cards pulled out the round TKO, the man can sure take punishment in his prime.:yep

Lewis and Hollyfied would indeed have murdered most of these guys, but those are two of the best heavyweights that have ever lived. This division is ok, I think Chageav is a really good fighter, Povetkin may yet deliver and Klit, although possibly damaged goods, is also a good fighter.

The fights just need to get made is all. This year could be a good year for HW's, maybe.

In terms of the depth of this division, it is definately one of the poorest.

Wlad Klitchsko is the only heavweight worthy of the name of being called a champion. The list of the current top 20 is truly embarassing to the division. Aside of a couple of new comers, who are not yet deemed title challenge worthy, the current challengers are really not worth watching.
