Don't get me wrong. I am really enjoying the current heavyweight landscape and Saudi's making things happen. Best vs the best, Not long ago we were grappling with all the heavyweights playing hide and seek. And we have seen such great fights in the past few years. But something I feel is really needed which is missing are some strong contenders from the U.S. . As much as Wilder flew the flag for a while those days are long gone... don't think he can realistically be called a top 10 anymore... Taking into consideration the rich history of U.S heavyweights it is such a shame they are missing at the moment... It would add so much to the current dynamics and would also add so much from a supporters base.
Jake Paul, Mike Tyson and Andy Ruiz all fought in 2024. Miller too is drug free maybe perhaps. Lovejoy is well rested and ready for a comeback fight. But, true, I'd like to see some impressive American HWs in the mix again.
We just don’t have much at HW worth mentioning in the US at the moment. Some other divisions, sure (look out, super fly, you’re on notice that your entire division is getting cleaned out, and bantam is coming after that), but HW, nope. would be nice if we had the talent.
