    No.1 Bowe
    No.2 Lewis
    No.3 Tyson
    No.4 Moorer
    No.5 Holyfield
    No.6 Seldon
    No.7 Frank Bruno
    No.8 Alexandra Zolkin
    No.9 Witherspoon
    No.10 McCall
Do you think this list was stronger than the top 10 heavies of today?

That must be the 90's strongest year looking at those names.
But who's #8 on that list? There are only 9 names on it.

Probably if the ring is ranking them.

The truth is todays HW's aren't in their primes yet beyond Wilder and Ortiz is probably past it but some are still fighting at top level like Povetkin .

The rest are far younger with less fights then the 96 group but its every bit as stacked and competitive if not more so depending who you consider the top 10.

Golota is not even on the 96 list yet outboxed Bowe twice which shows lists are flawed.

Witherspoon,Zolkin, seldon don't exactly make the grade and severly hinder it if were comparing a very competive current era of a top 10..

Witherspoon hadn`t held a belt since 1986 though. Seldon didn`t beat a quality opponent to win his belt. McCall caught Lewis pre-Steward.

This edition was for March 1996, I don`t think Golota had faced Bowe yet.

Zolkin, I rated him 7th by mistake. Bruno was ranked 7th.

    Current list on Ring:

    1. AJ
    2. Wilder
    3. Povetkin
    4. Ortiz
    5. Whyte
    6. Parker
    7. Fury
    8. Breazeale
    9. Kownacki
    10. Miller

Of course the list you mentioned is stronger. Out of this 10, maybe AJ would make the lower ends of the 1996 top 10 if he was in that era. He's really the only one out of those who has proven himself consistently over a number of fights against top opponents. Other than that....the rest are just fighters who haven't proven themselves enough to be judged. Even Fury and Wilder only have one decent win. But yeah, that list is way stronger than this one.

AJ is miles better than Bruno who might not have even have made it to No.7 on this list.

8 American fighters. Now you have two if you include Miller which is arguable. I like today's scene better.
