The Heavywieght division loses again today, Holyfield proves today he cant turn back time or pull the trigger when he needs to. Iggy also failed to impress by running from a 44 yearold Holyfield, and hitting him with nothing more than light punches. And so goes the one of the only heavywieght fighters that attracts the american fan base, and always demands PPV popularity.

Peter disappointed alot of people last weak, being knocked down 3 times and not showing his so called power by winning a close decision to Mccline.

The Heavywieght division is suffering from fighters who postpone fights like Vitali,Chagaev, and Maskaev, to overhyped fighters that fail impress like Peter and Brock. So what can be done to increase popularity in the heavywieght division, and will we ever go back to the days where the average person knows who the Heavywieght champ is?

Wlad needs to UNIFY - That's the only chance we have for a Marketable and Good HW division.

"Where have all the great heavywieghts gone", Larry Merchant said it best a couple years ago.

  4. Sultans stock dropped and his Marketing ability took a hit! if he couldn't put away a 45yr old man who is 15yrs beyond his prime, somethings wrong!!:patsch Wlad would have KO'D Holy inside of 7 rounds, especially in your home country with the crowd hyping you up, i suspect Sultan won't have a long reign as champ.......:-(

you have just had 2 heavyweight fights on mainstream russian tv in maskaev and iggy
defenses in germany by valuev /chagaev and wlad again on mainstream tv

i would guess 100 million watched these fighters last 4 fights in europe and ex soviet union.
and maybe a few million americans as well.
    boxing is alive and well.

You obviously know little about the heavyweight division if you actually think it's in good shape. :patsch

Mate you are forgetting that america aint the only country that participates in boxing...

But understand what your point is..I have boxed amateur but also play pro rugby.I loved boxing but as i could earn a living in rugby and possibly retire in 10plus years with my body semi intact i had to go with rugby.

Though i had the ability to become a decent fighter it isnt that certain that you will make money and not get too ****ed up doing it..

Have broken my nose 3times,my back(tailbone),eight of my fingers, ripped the tendon from my pubic bone(groin)twice And have pretty much torn most muscles in my body..All in rugby

    And im only 21....

when i boxed,i would leave a hard bout abit battered and bruised but the one thing i didnt enjoy were the massive headaches from headshots.I remember after my first hard bout i had headaches for nearly 9days.And i won the bout....lol

I will take the broken bones anyday......Though wont rule out a comeback to the ring.
