I’ve previously seen a pic of Jeffries with said bear.

Anyway, here’s another “take it as you will” old school newspaper report, describing Bob Fitz’s boxing skills coming to the fore to KO the ultimately overmatched bear.

Tbh, I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t credit the finisher as being Bob’s trademark solar plexus punch.

Everyone knows that bears can’t take it to the bread basket (aka: “Slats) so I think they could’ve floated and included Bob’s specialised punch in the story also without raising too many eyebrows.
