You cant compare how many calories Phelps, who is 3 times the size of Manny, would burn and say swimming burns more calories! Your comparing how many calories a big man would burn vs how many calories a small man would burn dude. All things equal, the link I provided shows that boxing burns more calories

Even all things equal, heavy bag training, jogging, and sparring still burn less calories than many swimming activities. Running up stairs, an actual fight, and jump roping are the only boxing related activities that burn more than swimming. This is all according to the link that you provided.

You burn more calories in training by far.
Your work in the ring is less than an hour.

During training you have 2-3 hours of training. Sometimes 2 sessions a day.
Also in training, you might spar for 10-18 rounds with only water breaks. This does not include warm ups, rope work, bags, etc you may do before or after sparring.

In general in any sport, you burn exert yourself more during training than you during actual events. If you don't then your stamina will never be on par.

Well now we have to break this issue down into shades of gray. Some aspects of boxing training burn more calories than swimming, some aspects of swimming burn more calories than certain aspects of boxing training. Being in an actual fight burns more than anything you do in swimming.
Thats hardly enough to make the blanket statement that swimming burns more calories than boxing, wouldnt you agree?

I'm going by the link you provided. I'm not sure why you're arguing against your own proof. Of course there are shades of gray, and every guy trains differently. But if you believe that, then your link is useless. This of course would beg the question of why you would try to use it to prove your point in the first place.

Ariza specifically said from his own mouth that Manny's walking around weight is 146. No bull****. Manny consumes 7000 calories a day and doesn't even gain weight. He will be under 150 at the weigh in. He wouldn't of been able to gain 4 pounds. Thats fishy ****. And for the idiots who bring up Micheal Phelps don't. One he's 6'4,6'5. Far younger than Manny and he trains in water. Big difference.

:patsch Dude....I'm trying to at least give you a chance to acknowledge your "mistake".....but you keep diggin yourself a bigger hole. "IN THE RING STATS" is what I posted you clown. Training is not what is comparing apples to apples. If that were the case then we'd have to compare training fro swimming vs training for boxing and you don't wanna do that.....the outcome would still prove "your point". lol

Yeah but how is Manny keeping weight on himself. I'm sure an extra supplement is needed to keep weight. We all know its not steroids. For sure epo which burns his calarie intake. Ariza himself said he gets over the counter supplements. HGH is sold over the counter in pill form and it's supposed to be taken overnight when your platuitory gland is most active and releases growth hormones into the body. It's stupid that Manny said he was scared of needles and wouldn't accept a 14 day cut off and has foughten in Texas that doesn't require drug testing in his last 2 fights. Alot of you give Manny too much benefit of the doubt.

You do realize that Ariza has a very unorthodox and rigorous training program built specifically for PAC, right? And his training would burn MORE calories than running some stairs bro. And Phelps does MORE than just the breaststroke Big. he does it all. He's taller and bigger but PAC has a more in depth and more physically taxing training program than Michael.

Manny is not taking steroids or HGH but he could be taking other things! THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT I KNOW THAT TAKE IN THAT AMOUNT DAILY WHILE TRAINING ARE BODYBUILDERS AND THEY TAKE ALL KINDS OF ****! I AM FROM THE STATE OF TEXAS ABOUT 1 HR AWAY FROM Arlington and the testing does suck here! Manny needs to just take the test! Damn!!
