I agree with this, and much else that you have said. The way this was handled, by Mayweather's camp, leading up to the negotiations was irresponsible. Certainly, it wasn't helping in the attempt to convince Manny to participate in the testing. During the first negotiations, I thought Floyd handled himself professionally, though. He stayed out of the media, during that period. It was moreso Arum and Roach, and Roger and Floyd Sr. who were fanning the flames of the PEDs issue, in one direction or the other, as well as other figures in the sport. But, I, personally, saw nothing wrong with Floyd asking that he and Manny undergo the "gold" standard of testing.

Do I think his intent was to "clean up the sport"? Hell no! I feel he asked Manny to participate in the mutually applied testing, because, he suspects Manny COULD be juicing. Nothing less...nothing more. As I recall, this is the same reason Tyson asked Holyfield to do additional testing (outside the NSAC norm) before their second fight. Any other reason he's given is just him saying the 'politically correct' thing, IMO. I don't buy all that, personally.

But, regardless of his intentions, he has a point, about boxing needing to clean up its act. It's one of the most dangerous sports with the lowest standard of protecting its athletes. And even if this situation were reversed, and these two fighters swapped roles in this situation, I would feel the same way about that.

It wouldn’t be that hard to corrupt the few bigwigs in charge either. USADA is the U.S. doping court but Travis Tygart is the arbitrator. Then there is Don Catlin who is basically in charge of the biggest labs and his own private lab is in hot competition to come up with the latest and greatest detecting devises which cost a pretty penny. For instance, it cost over $500,000 for Catlin's team to develop a test for the BALCO steroid THG and machines alone start at $80,000.
