I'm very late on this subject (8th page) but my view is that Hopkins severly underrated Calzaghe and thought he could slow him down. Fact is Hopkins was planning on Calzaghe to fade but in fact it happened to himself. We all know Hopkins is the gameplan master, which is why I am 100% sure Hopkins would win a rematch. He also was much more motivated against Pavlik, just because it was his last chance and the whole age thing.

Hopkins has been fading physically since the first Taylor fight, which is why it's so remarkable that he's still been able to do all that he's done simply using effective movement and strategy. And that's also why he's obviously an all-time great.

Bernard's 'white boy remarks' were just to drum up interest in the fight.

    No harm in that.

Just a spicier version of a 'demented old idiot'. Doe-eyed = blind and irrational adoration, wankrag = soggy with manlove for Joe.

It's the only way your personal offence can be explained, the way you explode with venom any time I say I don't believe Joe was ever a powerpuncher/VERY heavy hitter.

He didn't fake ****. He was hit low and the replay clearly showed it. I think he was probably milking it to get a rest, but he was not just pretending to be hit low.

I think he's been fading physically since well before that. He was 40 years old when he first fought Taylor.

Wrong. You're getting pretty pathetic. There's absolutely nothing to suggest Calzaghe would've gone down again. Something you keep repeating.

Here's the gifs of the end of the 7th to remind everyone who isn't blind what happened. Try actually looking.

Calzaghe was coming forward chin up throwing his usual girly arm flurry which misses. Hopkins countered with a classic uppercut-style headbutt which stopped Calzaghe in his tracks & left him square on & straight up. Because of Calzaghe's stance the quick right from Hopkins which followed actually lifted him off his feet a little & knocked him back off balance, completely unhurt. Hopkins didn't even realise. If you knew anything about boxing you'd have at least some idea of balance & leverage.

Oh & Calzaghe then casually walked back to his corner while Hopkins had trouble find his own.

& you call me ******ed? Jesus Christ.

Dinamita embarrased himself on this thread last night. His constant blathering about Calzaghe has become pathetic.

It does seem like a serious mental issue with him, every time Calzaghe's name pops up Dinamita's jumps in to slag him off:lol:

He called me Alf Garnett last night, i assume for agreeing with the American judges for this fight :huh
To be honest his rants are becoming more and more non-sensical.

Why the hell are people arguing so long about a decision that was so close??
Amassive injustice I could understand but I mean come on!! The fight was close, Calzaghe got it, move on......

  15. Joe a powerpuncher? No way. Calzaghe? LOL. He never had material or substantive power. His early KOs were all against complete and utter bums. Nearly all of his TKOs were against poor comp.
