that has to be my favourite gif of all time. Had to cringe at the HBO commentary though manny steward said something along the lines of heres calzaghe coming in with his amateur slapping style punches but they get points???? earth to manny the pro scoring system does not count cupping slaps and especially when they're waffing at air like in this sequence

Embarrassed myself?? You're a joke mate. This is a boxing forum for boxing fans, but you are not a boxing fan, you're a fan of anything British, that's the only thing a boxer needs to be to have your undying loyalty. The way you burst into tears when I said I don't think Joe Calzaghe was a VERY heavy hitter was nothing short of bizarre, it can only be attributed to pure bulldog British pride. It's irrational and infantile. Try forming your opinions on boxing and not the country someone was born in. You disappoint me greatly you sad little Yorkshire pudding. :-(

P.S its subtle pieces of skill like this which make the fight hard to score because the movement of calzaghe and hopkins in the exchange favours calzaghe as he was forcing bernard to the ropes and had him slightly off balance but bernard landed the only connecting punch which mattered in the exchange and probably the whole round. Plus you have the uneducated calzaghe supporters cheering like their man got the better of the exchange

This is true, but his adoring fans like Stonerose and Guy just can't accept any comment or criticism of his ability/performance that isn't 100% gushing love and devotion, or they behave like you have spat in the face of the Queen of England. This whole thing started because I said I didn't agree with someone who said Joe was a "VERY heavy hitter" in his younger days, and Stonerose went ****ing berserk. I don't think they can comprehend that saying he was never a VERY heavy hitter is not the same as saying he was never a VERY good boxer, which he was. But hey, that's fanboy love for you, in its purest and ugliest form.

I have to say, he does not look hurt at all here. Squared up and knocked back, but the way he walks back to his corner suggests much debate over nothing.

It comes down to this: do you prefer 4 or 5 shots that don't land or one that does?

Under that presumption Calzaghe does not land a punch in the entire fight. Bull****.

Nothing next Helen, nothing at all. He was staggered by those shots and could easily have been dropped again had the action continued. Same story now as when I first observed it on the night. Enjoy your denial. Props on the invention of Braille. :good

So you don't even know the difference between staggered and knocked off balance either. This gets worse & worse.

I've contacted the mods and they say it's cool if I send my comments to them in Braille by post and then they'll forward them to you Helen. :good

Dinamita has to be the dumbest hypocrite on this forum. Someone posts gifs, spells out what they show, which completely debunks his delusional interpretation & yet he still believes his own skewed p.o.v. then starts making jokes about Braille. Is this terd for real??

You're just making yourself look more & more of a fool

The people are right about Sitiyzal after all, he is indeed one of the most biased and idiotic posters on the ESB. The guy has barely made a post longer than eight words at a time since he joined, he's a one-sentence petty ***** who lives on commenting on other posters rather than boxing.

He made an allegation about me saying I said Calzaghe would have been KO'd in round 7 by Hopkins, scurried off, searched through my posts from weeks ago, found one, and posted it - all of which proved me right as I clearly implied he would be floored again and not KO'd as he suggested. D'oh! :patsch

He is so far up Joe's a-hole he can't distinguish between being cracked on the mush and the legs wobbling, and an old lady stumbling off the kerb when she loses her balance in a mild wind. Calzaghe got hit by a solid punch and stumbled back, the evidence is so clear only Helen Keller can't see it. I'm assuming Sitiyzal is yet another of those deluded jokers who think the knockdown in the first round was due to "balance" and not the fact Joe got lamped with a punch and his legs momentarily gave way. :patsch

You may have plenty more Calzaghe maniacs to back you up and make you feel vindicated, but the evidence is clear-cut to the neutral. Calzaghe was floored once and visibly staggered once. Hopkins was not visibly perturbed at any point in the full 12 rounds. :hi:
