agreed on all fronts. I felt B-Hop edged it but his faking and spoiling tactics made me not give a **** that he didn't get the W (although now i wish he did to shut up all the dumb slappy joe fans).

It's a boxing cult classic, such a **** fight yet it still gets talked about frequently even today an odd 4 years after it happened.

one man came to fight . . . travelled abroad, moved up weight, and fought against a corrupt ref and 3 foreign judges, and the other man came to spoil.

its not like hopkins has ever given a **** about giving his fans value for money, the allen, jones2, and dawson1 fights tell you bernards mentality.

You just mad because Calzaghe exposed Hopkins for the fraud he was.

It was a great fight, and of course Hopkins fans would like to forget or Display or Lower Value (DLV) it. Had Hopkins won they would say greatest fight ever.

I'm not a fan of either man. If Hopkins got the decision I would still feel the same way.

Yeah beating Hopkins is as easy as a walk in the park.

Who your favorite fighters now, Floyd? Ward? The Bernard Hopkins that faced Calzaghe beats those ***gots in a p4p match-up. :patsch

Your emotions has taken over your intelligence, and because of that you are missing the point of this thread.

I enjoyed the fight. It wasn't action packed but there was enough drama and importance to keep me on the edge of my seat.

I think this is an example where a loss can still raise a fighters ATG standing. The result is debated to a degree, there was the age factor and had Calzaghe lost the decision he wouldn't be considered as great as he is. Not only that but this loss raised the greatness of his next win as everyone finally thought age had caught up which made Hopkins a silly 6-1 underdog against Pavlik.

The faked low blows and Calzaghe dry humping Hopkins is classic.

What's funny is that after Hopkins got his breathers, he looked fresh and landed some good shots but as the gas tank started to run low again, you could tell he just didn't have the stamina to keep fighting at Calzaghe's pace but had to pick his spots every so often.

Prime Hopkins would've beaten Calzaghe IMO. Close but clear.

What a sorry excuse for a "fight fan" you are. The fight showed two ATGs in a fight (an incredibly rare occurrence) and here you are shitting on it. Of course Bernard made it a shitty fight. Thats what he does in all his fights. The great thing about it was that while Bernard made it look bad for his opponent, Calzaghe did enough to win it. Needless to state, beating Hopkins clearly happens only once in a blue moon. This fight was one such instance.

There are some fights that are so bad though they become entertaining in a masochistic sense. If you're going to put on a stinker, put on a spectacularly bad and hilarious stinker.
