How'd you think they'd have fared against the cunning the ol' *******?
I know KP's going up against him soon enough but the chances are Hopkins may have deterioated slightly since his bout with Joe.

So with that in mind replace Joe with these two fighters and tell me what you think.:good

Im afraid that Hopkins is way past it. Pavlik will win by UD imo and Kessler would do to.

Hopkins is a spoiler though. He could win a dirty one against Pavlik if hes allowed.

But Kessler beats Pavlik btw. Better movement, defence, chin and at least similar power.

At what weight? At 175 Bernard UDs Pavlik in a tough fight,Pavlik won't have his usual size advantage and pop.Kessler might beat Bernard but it's a pick'em

Pavlik beats Hopkins on sheer workrate, similar to Calzaghe but Hopkins shows in there that he would have beaten him when he just would have been a bit younger, also similar to the Calzaghe fight.
Hopkins would show Kessler many tricks he didn´t know even existed and win a close decision.

hopkins beats the ghost but need to improve his stamina because pavlik will only start causing him trouble in the later round because he's so busy
kessler beats hopkins in a very close s/d maybe u/d if hes lucky lol

These posts in this thread just go down to show what you should not do in order to make it out fairly and on an unbiased basis - don't judge someone just cause you don't like him. Hopkins doesn't have strength-technical-mental disadvantages against the whole of them, Calzaghe, Pavlik, Kessler, he may have a problem with the media and fans concerning these opponents... But when it comes down to slug it out, the main thing about these fighters and Hopkins is and will always be physical activity/workrate/ stamina, nothing more. This is boxing and not some sort of weight-lifting so it's almost useless to impose yourself like you used to do with the greenest opponents in the world such as Gary Lockett. Hopkins may steal any of the fights against those three like it or not.

    Madness.

There is a strong chance Hopkins will outthink Pavlik but Kessler is just too strong and would outwork him.

I know Hop is crafty enough to take advantage of Pavliks defencing mistakes but even knowing that doesnt give me enough confidence to pick him to win.

I think Pavlik will be too young and energetic for Hop, the old man will stay on his feet for 12 rounds though...
