Wladimir has a very good record. Byrd Botha Mercer Peter Brewster Ibragimov Thompson Rahman Chagaev Chambers Haye Povetkin Pulev
Lennox is slightly better than Wald and Vit.....prime for Prime. I think Vitaly is slightly better than his younger bro and his performance against Lewis proved that they are in the same league and their utter dominance over the years solidifies that.....albeit in a weak era.
Larry Holmes was able to do the same thing during his era and it was a weak era.....roids were common place as PEDs are now so that makes no difference since everyone at the top levels are more the. Likely doping.
Not only that, those Wlad Klitschko victims were broken after their loss. Never the same. Brock didn't make this list but he was the great American hope never to be seen again as a HW force after getting knocked out face first into the canvas. Byrd was battered so bloody he was never the same again. He called Wlad "Frankenstein" but Byrd looked like he made out with Dracula after his second defeat to Wlad. Botha and Mercer were beaten into obscurity Peter was supposed to be the next big HW Champ and his career was destroyed by Wladimir (and Vitali) today, not a blip on the HW radar screen. Brewster quit on his stool in the rematch saying he was afraid he wouldn't be able to talk to his kids from possible brain damage being inflicted by Wlad's JABS! Brew was never a contender again. Undefeated Ibragimov has fallen off the face of the earth. Thompson lost twice to Wlad but whopped Price twice very easily. Lost to Pulev who Wlad pulverized last night. Rahman was able to put Lennox Lewis to sleep in their first fight couldn't make a dent in Wlad's over exaggerated "glass chin" and was really never heard from again. Undefeated Chagaev stock dropped like a thermometer in the snow after getting plowed by Wlad. Never seen as a serious threat in the HW division again. Undefeated Chambers was beaten back into Cruiserweight. Must have lost all confidence he could compete in HW anymore. Not even considered having a chance at the HW belt these days. Haye said before their fight that Wlad needed a stand out win like he had against Valuev. What Haye got was a standout loss. All Haye will be remembered for is losing to Wlad and blaming his pinky toe. That will be his boxing legacy. That is what he will be always known for. Povetkin bounced back with a win but it's quite clear he stands no chance against Wlad ever. I never saw him get so beat up in any of his previous fights. Pulev walked into the ring with an over exaggerated swagger. Looked like a blowfish trying to make himself look bigger. Unfortunatley for him, he was being thrown into the tank of a killer shark. He tried clowning after the first KD and got floored again immediately. His rabbit punches had no effect on Wlad at all. I don't recall seeing a HW's eyes roll to the back of their head as I did Pulev when Wlad hit him clean. Look at some of the still picture and you'll know what I mean. Not only does Wlad beat everyone. He breaks them. Physically, psychologically and permanently including his irrational haters. Now for the bad news for Wlad's terrified enemies. He's reaching his prime at age 38. While Joe Louis, Archie Moore, Muhammad Ali, Larry Holmes, Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis are all given a free pass along with an excuse for fighting at that age. Wlad is peaking! Probably will ruin the careers of at least 5 to 10 more HW top contenders until he retires on his own terms :good
Excellent list there. Wlad is the soul reaper of the HW division. He rips out their throats and they're never the same.
He makes this era look weak because he is an ATG. You can't rule the biggest, strongest division for TEN YEARS where one punch can win the fight at anytime unless you are one of the greatest of all time. As Mike Tyson said, HW boxers may not look as good as those from the past but each generation gets bigger and stronger. Tale of the Tape doesn't lie. This goes for all sports. The worst team in the NFL today would wipe out the Pittsburgh Steeler dynasty of the 1970's from sheer size and strength alone. Same with the worst NBA team today against the Celtics of the 1960's. That's why sports records will always eventually be broken and broken again. :smoke
