Garcia and Lubbers werent the top contenders of the day. Arreola, Chambers are, thats the difference. You named some of the worst fighters from the 70s, i named the top fighters of today. You claim that the Klits would be comepettive in any era, based on what exactly? so i mentioned their top names and compared them to past greats.
I think the reason that the hw division looks weaker now is because the size required now is so much greater, A great heavyweight now will usually need to be 6'5" + (not always though) so when the best heavys were upto 6'2 or 6'3" there were plenty of kids getting into the sport who would grow up to be that height. But if a 12 old is tall and athletic (tall enough to grow up to be 6'6) he is more likely to play basketball and never step into the ring. So when someone says the great heavys are in other sports that doesnt mean they are actually in the nba, or that nba players could beat boxers, it just means someone who could have been great never stepped into the ring
Actually i went by where they were ranked by ring magazine to be objective, and they have the same rank within the top 10 in 1973 as those you picked are now. plus one random guy ali fought in 1973 from outside the top 10 like peters is

You're missing the point of what i am saying. If you take away the eastern europeans. he would be 36-0, and would have probably dominated the division. Any american that does that in a division will get ATG status with a lot of people. I'm not saying that he is great or worthy of that.
