The Hyping of Andre Ward

His career is incredible on paper. Seems like he is playing the waiting game for now. He (like all other top SMWs) should be pushing for a JCCjr fight. Would do good things for him publicity wise and a guarantee win.

 

Wrong. He did't hold excessively against Froch it was an exciting fight.

 

People like you kill me. If you can't see Ward is the most complete fighter in the sport outside of PBF than you don't know **** about boxing. Name another boxer who can fight at all ranges with good defense and a high ring IQ.:deal Ward dominated the Super 6 with ease these were elite fighters he did this to. Stop with the irrational hate, Ward is elite and only a fool or hater would think otherwise.

 

Ward simply outclassed Froch in that fight and before you say I'm a Froch hater I picked Froch to win the Super 6 before it started. I revised my pick to Ward when the finals were set. The fight was exciting it was much better than people expected many thought Ward would run from Froch but he engaged him head on.

 

Ward beats any version of Kessler headbutts are just sour grapes. Ward would always beat him to the punch all night long. Kessler lacks the speed and adaptability to beat Ward.:deal

Based on what? He's a gold medalist and an elite pro. I'd take you on all those bets.

 

So Kessler admitting that Ward was the better man isnt good enough for you....that makes you more butthurt than the guy who was actually beaten...amazing

My only question is, if beating Froch/Kessler ect makes you P4P number 2 then why do people have a hissy fit when people mention Froch being in their pvp top 10 lists. Surely if Froch isnt regarded that highly and isnt in peoples P4P lists then why does Ward deserve number 2 spot. Apart from a few like Pimp C why do people have a problem with rating both Ward and Froch highly

 

Was big bad Ward to rough and powerful for little Carl? Awww, poor baby. Why didn't Carl get his punches off first? Why didn't he fight out of clinches? Why didn't he do something, anything to win? The punch stats don't count clinches as punches and the judges don't award rounds to the guy that clinched more. If bothe guys want to come forward, there is going to be head clashes and clinches. It gets rough in there. The better and or tougher guy wins. Perhaps Carl should have used footwork and boxed backing up and using angles since he couldn't beat Andre with the inside game. Bottom line is, Carl lost and it wasn't particularly close. I don't think UK fans want a rematch anymore than Carl himself does.

 

He is arguably P4P number 2 but I agree he does get over-hyped a bit. He has good wins but his resume is nothing spectacular. Dawson was drained and appears to be shot, Kessler was a good win but Calzaghe had proven that he is beatable and Ward did cheat in that fight even though he could have beaten him without cheating, Froch is a good win but Froch is very beatable IMO.

If Ward had cleaned out 175 as well as 168, I think he would deserve the hype. People criticize Calzaghe for not leaving home and moving up and sooner to chase Roy Jones Jr but Ward isn't even willing to move up to face much less formidable opponents.

Other elite P4P fighters of recent years proved themselves in multiple weight divisions. Pacquiao, Mayweather, RJJ, Hopkins. People ridicule him but even David Haye had the balls to move up and fight the much bigger Wladimir. Even Amir Khan has gone through weight divisions and seems willing to face the likes of Mayweather and Pacquiao. Martinez stepped up, Cotto stepped up. Ward is not showing the testicular fortitude of these guys.

 

People make excuses for losing all the time.

Admitting the other guy was better than you...thats a bit rarer.
