And fair point about Forbes being at 150, though DLH initially weighed-in a half lb over 150 for Forbes but he eventually made weight, so he obviously was struggling to make 150 for Forbes. So you do the math, if he was struggling to make 150 vs Forbes he must have had to starve himself to make 147 let alone 145.

What many people can't wrap their heads around and why there was speculation about a catchweight for Manny is why DLH over-shot draining to 147 by 2 full lbs. And even if it wasn't a catchweight, for Pacquiao to force DLH to drain down to 147 at 35 years a weight he hadn't fought at in about a decade is pretty crazy. It wasn't even for a title, why didn't Pac fight DLH at 150 like he did vs Forbes? Pacquiao fought David Diaz at 135, granted there was still a big weight difference between Pac-Man and DLH, but to drain a 35 year old like that, in a non-title fight is bad. And for DLH to end up weighing in at 145 is a head-scratcher. I don't get why DLH would kill himelf to take off 2 extra lbs when he didn't have to. How do you explain that?

Not only that but Pacquiao would end up campaigning at 147 for the rest of his career, and even fought at 154 less than 2 years after fighting DLH when he fought Margacheato. DLH looked like a corpse at 145 vs Pacquiao, it was a terrible look for boxing and it never should have happened. DLH never should have been forced to drain himself to 145 or even 147, he was a natural 154-lb fighter who had to drain himself just to make 150 for Forbes. No way should he have been forced to fight below that, especailly in a non-title fight. It was atrocious.

Well I didn't argue it was a catchweight, I'm simply stating that many people believed that it was, and more importantly it was odd that DLH would kill himself to weigh 145 and Pac would go on to have a 145 catchweight vs Cotto a year later.

Regardless of whether Pac-DLH was a catchweight or not, the title of this topic is about the hypocrisy of Pac fans criticizing Canelo and the fact that Canelo isn't draining Kovalev. The fact is that Pac-Man drained DLH a 35-year old man AND drained Cotto a year later. Canelo never drained anybody like that, like Pac-Man did.

Cotto looked fit and strong as an ox at the weigh in. His face is full. If Cotto was drained, he'd have hollow hungry eyes and sunken cheeks. See any Rios weigh in or Spence and Haney in recent interviews a week out before their fights. And Cotto was ripping some vicious shots that sounded like shot gun blasts.

Kovalev still looks like he has a good bit fight in him, Clenelo ISN'T draining him, so if there's no rehydraion clause this would far exceed any of Dipidran's tainted wins. Even if there IS a rehydration clause, well we all know the King of Catchweights loved employing that tactic himself

This fight has truly brought to the light the hypocrisy of so many fans. The fact is Both fighters were/are repugnant cheating deck stacking pieces of ****, and Both should be treated as such, not just Clenelo because you happen to like Manny more

That would be like Canelo dragging Kovalev down to 168, actually even lower since DLH had to fight Pacquiao at a 145 lbs catchweight. But you don't see anyone calling Pacquiao the catchweight king now do you? DLH was fighting at JMW and had to starve himself down to 145 making him a corpse, that would be like Canelo fighting Kovalev at at 165 or 166 lb catchweight.

And the Pacquiao catchweight demands didn't end there. When he fought Cotto he made Cotto go down to a 145 catchweight as well.

And Roach kept pushing for a 145 lb catchweight vs Marquez as well, which would once again benefit Pacquiao and not Marquez since Marquez was more effective at lower weights.

I gave full credit for Canelo because Canelo called out Mayweather. The difference is Mayweather can't make 154 weight. Canelo agreed that Mayweather atleast makes it too 150. As far as Marquez. He also called out Mayweather and moved up to 147 to fight Mayweather. Mayweather didn't call him out. However, i don't give full credit and neither does Mayweather. Pac however is demanding these catchweights to weight drain fighters. Big difference! Mayweather has never done that.
