The "I hope Casey knocks out Rigondeaux" express!!!!

Casey doesn't have a chance, Rigondeaux is one of the best bodypunchers in the game. Not only that but Rigondeaux is also one of the best counterpunchers, and you can also add his incredible amateur credentials and you will have your winner. This will be a very good fight for Rigo to gain confidence and to adjust a little more to the pro game. Rigondeaux wins by mid rounds TKO or UD.

 

Once Rigo feels Caseys power he will run away like he did last time out, but this time he wont get the decision he was gifted then:deal

 

For some reason, I thought he spent some time over at Wild Card after winning Prizefighter

And you don't think that in 400+ amateur bouts Rigondeaux hasn't experienced anyone with power? When Rigo runs is not because he is scared is because that's a tactic that he has used for sooo looong. :good

 

Man Casey is going to be suffering from kidney failure for the rest of his life if he doesnt cover that body by march

 

A tactic that wont work in the pro game:deal

 

When I said that I was mainly referring to Rigo's amateur credentials VS Whitaker's. In that sense, Rigondeaux's is waaaaayyyyyy better than Whitaker ( or anyone else for that matter ). Now, it's too early to tell if Rigo will be better than Whitaker in the pros as he is just starting his career.

But Rigondeaux has done something in the pros that Pernell never did, in just 7 pro fights he became Interim World Champion, defeated a 40+fights ex World Champion and did it in style. Pernell never did that so early in his career!

I think it's a little late for Rigo to catch up to Whitaker's pro credentials ( Rigo is 30 years old and is only starting ), but Rigo definitely will be a very good and solid World Champion in 122lbs and 126lbs. That it's guaranteed. :good

No Casey's just been kept very busy since prizefighter at home in Ireland, developing under Phil Sutcliffe and having 4 fights since the prizefighter series(including the win over Paulie Hyland to take the European title).

Amazing to think that 15 months ago Willie Casey had just 1 pro fight. Rigondeaux at that period of time had 3.

I'm still not convinced this is the right fight for Casey. Many have said that going this route means he can still get a big fight at European level should he lose(he was meant to be defending vs Kiko Martinez). But to me this isn't a case of should he lose, it's how badly he will lose and the answer is likely severely. Unless Rigondeaux struggles bady with making the weight in a cold climate, then he'll likely hammer Casey for 3/4 rounds or so before brutally stopping him to either body or head.

When instead Casey could of fought Kiko Martinez(a 50/50 fight imo) where of course things could have gone wrong for him, but he'd have been in with a great shout and it's a fight which could really bring him on. Should he win a fight like that going after Steve Molitor would have been a great option and Casey may have actually been able to capture a World belt that way.

I hope Casey can somehow pull off the miracle, afterall Bernard Dunne managed it two years previously, but this task seems even greater than the one Bernard had in front of him. Should Casey lose here I just hope the defeat isn't too damaging in the long run for Casey. His career is likely to be a short(but brightly) burning one and a bad ko loss could do hurtful things to a career like that.

None the less I'm jumping on this hopefully express, might aswell throw Brian Magee getting a win over Bute onto this aswell, they're equally just as likely to happen.

 

I hope he does beat Rigo, but I seriously doubt it will happen since Casey is tailormade for Rigo. I'll be rooting for Casey though.

 

This is correct. It is something we had not seen from Rigo in the pros and thats whats good about fighting someone like Cordoba. Now Ronnie can work on that and teach him thats not the way to do it. But you are right, has to be corrected immediately. But just imagine, 400+ fights and only losing like 4 or 5 fights using similar tactics, its embedded in his brain.
