I've been trying to remind you guys for quite awhile that everytime BHop is suppose to lose he pulls one more great performance out of his ass. That has nothing to do with any analytical prowess I have or do not have. It is simply a historical fact, and no matter how much people prattle on about age and "styles make fights," blah-blah-****ing-blah, historical facts are important in boxing.

Now, if Hops keeps fighting, someday he will go to the well and find it dry, but I will not bet against him, or openly pick against him, until I see that happen with my own eyes.

 

I think this was more to do with the different strategy deployed by BHOP that night which was more aggressive and offensive minded, leaving himself open for counters. A position he usually likes to occupy himself. In the Pavlik fight and this one, BHOP reversed his defensive style and became offensive minded. Quite a difference from many of his last 5-6 fights where he deployed more defensive strategy like the one he used against Calzaghe and turned out to be the WRONG strategy to use against Calzaghe, so he lost by crooked judges. Had Calzaghe not run from the rematch we would see Hopkins fight the same offensive minded strategy against Calzaghe since he now realizes that Calslappies slaps can't harm him.
