WBF, IBO, IBA, IBC, GBU, I owe U all are lame minor belts, lamer than the legit 4 governing bodies...because they also want sanctioning fees for a bogus belt ran by small time pimps & hasbeen hoes :dead

Boxrec gives better rankings for free, you want belts we already got WBC WBO WBA IBF, if you want to do a sanctioning body free of fees & make $ from traffic ala boxrec, then by all means go ahead :thumbsup

I agree that there are too many paper champions in the division..... Sergio certainly isn't helping, he sat on his title for over a year and now he's defending against Cotto :patsch

With GGG I really think we have a case of a guy that has everybody running scared.... Quillin and Sturm don't want to face anybody good, especially not GGG.. Whatever the case is, the ducking at MW needs to stop asap, it's ruining a great division that has a fair amount of talent.

Whats legit about say a WBA that makes a guy like Fletcher a mandatory to a guy like GGG on a dime? I think you missed the point.

The point being any belt only as good or bad as the fighters who care to fight for and hold it. Right now the so called "big 4" are held in more esteem, but it doesnt necessarily have to remain the case forever. By and large the "4 major belts" are full of fail, particularly the WBA and IBF, and if the trend of fail continues we might see other belts rise to prominence.

If GGG dropped the WBA belt tomorrow, winning the IBO would be a bigger deal than winning either the IBF or WBA at 160. Because you would have to beat GGG to get it. Which would be rated by most people as a bigger accomplishment than beating Sturm, and beating Fletcher 100 times wouldnt even come close. Any belt is only as legit as the guy you take it from, or the guys you defend against.

Well if the WBA denies Geale over Fletcher, maybe Golovkin could unify against Soliman instead with Geale/Macklin on the undercard.
