...but also sad at the same time... http://www.ibf-usba-boxing.com/index.php Look for instance at SMW. CHAMPION : Alejandro Berrio Colombia WBA : Anthony Mundine Australia WBC : Mikkel Kessler Denmark WBO :Joe Calzaghe England 1 NOT RATED 2 NOT RATED 3 Luciene Bute France 4 Carl Froch 5 Dennis Inkin Germany 6 Jeff Lacy United States 7 Jurgen Brahmer Germany 8 Robert Stieglitz Germany 9 Edison Miranda Colombia 10 David Gogiya Russian Federation 11 Sakio Bika South Africa 12 Anthony Hanshaw United States 13 Vitaly Tsypko Ukraine 14 Sergey Tatevosyan Russian Federation 15 Danillo Haussler Germany They put a random country on half the fighters in their top 15 (Bika is from Camaroun, Bute from Romainia/Canada, Inkin is Russian, Calzaghe is Welsh etc.) and others they can't even be bothered to have a guess (Froch). Is this really a serious international boxing organisation?:think
what's even more baffling is that the IBF, WBO and WBC seemingly refuse to rank Mundine, arguably the 3rd best SMW in the world.
The irony of all this is that the IBF was originally formed to save boxing from the crooked bull**** and politics of the WBA and the WBC.Yeah, right.
Have you seen how they write Bute's first name? sounds like a girl. Especially when pronounced in French. They should just have one division per weight in Boxing, period.
The WBA is the worst with it's Super Champion and normal champion nonsense. After Ibragimov and Chagaev unify, they are just going to create another WBA belt. The WBC has been hustling alot of fighters, for example Kelly Pavlik. They had him fight an eliminator, Pavlik won , then they made him fight another eliminator against Miranda. Oleg Maskaev now has 3 mandatory challengers, which is even against their own WBC's rules that they make.
I can already see what they are doing, they see how much fans are demanding unification so they make the list of mandatories to prevent unification from happening.their trying to tie up that belt for years.Mcall will die of old age before he get's his shot.
