Not to mention Pac is only able to hit you if you are standing right in front of him. If a guy is moving or side stepping he usually misses by a country mile.. Cant say that for Floyd. So this is just bull**** comparisons b/c Pac last 4 opponents gave him no head movement and all stood right in front of him for majority of the fight. Period. That is not hard to time.

Floyd has the better timing. But IMO Pac's off timing style is far more better and effective to beat any above average fighters in this sport. And Pacquiao showed that already. I believe this off timing of Pac made Floyd think and doubted his ability against this filipino dude.

    this.

too many posters with a 'lulz sweet science for teh winssss!11 best timings!!!1' attitude in here. there's a lot of this on boxing forums by people who think talking up defensive counter punchers/shitting on aggressive fighters and using terms like 'sweet science' and 'hit and not get hit' makes them look like intellectual boxing fans with more insight.

just because fighter A is primarily a counter puncher and fighter B is a come forward fighter does not by default make fighter A's timing superior.

    Here's my take on it..

Pac does have good timing against slower/average fighters. A lot of his good shots rely on a combination of his opponent's lack of defense and the amount of shots he throws.

Mayweather has shown to land punches in the most awkward of situations. Floyd can be on the ropes getting hammered, parry most of the shots, and still land a few shots.

Both men can counter guys like cotto easily when they're always in front of them, it's just Floyd has the edge against faster guys in addition to awkward situations.

Clearly owned yourself since Pac misses by a mile with the right. Only one of those punches connected and it is the connect percentage/accuracy that is the measure of timing. Next thing you will be trying to tell me that was just a setup punch to freeze Hatton's head position. Right?

Pac is faster, stronger, tougher, smarter, and has better timing. Can someone remind what advantages Mayweather would have in this fight?

I'd say Floyd physically is just as strong as Pac if not stronger even though he doesn't punch as hard.

    Floyd is heavier.

    Floyd is taller.

    Floyd has longer reach.

    Floyd has better defense.

Handspeed is pretty much equal at this point. Close for sure.

Have Floyd throw 12 punch combinations and let's see if he's still holding the accuracy record :)
