If the reason your favorite guy can beat Fighter X is because Fighter X is garbage, how is it any kind of accomplishment for your guy to beat Fighter X? You see this all the time. There are at least two threads (probably more) just like this on page one of general forum right now.
The immaturity on this forum astounds me sometimes. I just want to have intelligent, objective boxing discussions, but the majority of the posts on here are guys calling each other names and making silly claims about their favorite fighter or fighters they don’t like.
I admit I’ve done this in the past but you can really see the silliness in some people. Not to say that mismatches don’t exist because they do but the comments and opinions get really out of hand sometimes...
I despise when people refer to fighters as "bums". Especially when they call former World Champs bums. It's just so ignorant to crap on boxers, when you profess to love the sport. Sure there are some fighters I don't like, but I'll never call anyone a "bum". It takes massive stones to box professionally and certainly anyone that has had the skills and dedication to win a strap should respected by everyone who claims to be a boxing fan.
How dare you speak with facts and logic! Mods please ban him this post is highly offensive, and doesn't suit my biased agenda.
Whenever I see a post stating "bums, good for nothing, waste of oxygen" etc. when referring to boxers, I instantly know that these posters have never put on a glove and boxed even as an amateur, let alone professional.
Hey before you press post, Take a second there chum, It appears that you're calling, This fighter a bum? Now the law on this changed, Happened just yesterday, And so you just might, Want to watch what you say, As the van will be coming, To take you away, To a new boxing ring, And thats where you will stay, Hey it won't be forever, So don't look too dejected, You can leave after boxing, That 'bum' ya disrespected,
Its quite funny, when people ask me who my favourite boxer is I actually don't have a reply, I just enjoy watching good match ups and appreciate the skills and technicalities showcased.
you are right as of this moment i will never call a fighter a bum ever. he has the courage to do what others won't
To be honest, I think either the fans are fed by the media or the media fed by fan tribalism, because it's rare to even see or hear reasoned debate about fighters on TV, radio or in print.
There’s a big difference between former or current world champs calling their rivals “bums” and trash talking former or future opponents to make headlines and some dude sitting in his basement pounding Cheetos and trashing fighters online. Big, big difference.
