I don't understand why people would try to compare Golovkin to Kostya. There's a very superficial comparison because of their cultural background but otherwise, Golovkin's ability and skills are far below Kostya's in the amateurs, before he was ruined by Johnny Lewis: [yt]7qeEvIxitfY[/yt] [yt]RFqzr4oMwZM[/yt]
Well, first thing I ever thought when I seen GGG fight was that he reminded me of KT, this was before I ever heard anyone else mention the comparison. So for me at least, they remind me of eachother.
And Im not even saying its a good comparison, you could very well be right. But Id be lying if I said that I dont think of an older KT from time to time when watching GGG fight.
For some reason, Golovkin reminds me of a bigger Takashi Uchiyama. Especially with how it doesn't seem like they throw a whole lot of themselves into their punches, but they still come out really hard. They're both technically sound, stalking punchers with solid boxing skills, though breaking the other guy down and pursuing them is more their preference. I really like Uchiyama and Golovkin's overhand right. It doesn't seem like they put themselves too off balance, open, or out of position when they throw it. I like their jabs, too, nice and heavy.
Right now folovkin needs to improve one skill only. Head and lateral movement. Everything else is working great for him.
kt had a better jab, faster hands and straighter punches. devasting power in both hands. prime kt is the most underrated 140 fighter and would absolutely destroy garcia, matthyse, khan...everyone at current 140. ****, prime sharmba mitchell and otkay urkel would probalby rule the division right now.
