funny that because when fury was a AM he wasn't allowed to box for Ireland in the Olympics because they could find no trace of his Irish roots, remember when fury fought rogan at the press conference matty rogan bang the table and said fury no irish man.

In Ireland I've never heard Tyson Fury being described as Irish. Macklin is considered Irish in Ireland. The fact he played hurling gives him credibility.

He's not english. He's an ethnically Irish Brit.

He's English and Ireland is his second country because of his family. He was born in England I'm pretty sure and was raised in Manchester. He only represented Ireland because David Price was getting the attention from the UK and he only took the Irish route for a title because it's an extra title and he only had to beat Martin Rogan lmao. Anyway if the Irish wanna claim him they can... they need to be good at something.

I agree its stupid to try claim Fury as Irish he is not however dont act like you Brits dont try claim people either, Mo Farrah, Lennox Lewis, Chisora aint British either

His passport (probably) says he is British, that is his status as a citizen. He's British. Saying he is English suggests that he is from Anglo-Saxon stock when is not, he's a Celt, more specifically an Irish Celt. Now had there been sufficient intermarriage in his family with Anglo-Saxon's to the point where his name was no longer Fury but Smith or somesuch then perhaps it would be a different matter.

I dont think you know what you're talking about. Northern fighters are still from this island and can have either passport.

Tyson Fury claims to be Irish. As he is an Irish Traveller with a father from Galway and a mother from Belfast. If he wasn't a pro boxer you'd just call him another dirty Irish gypo. Dont say you wouldn't. And as for Macklin, who also claims to be Irish with Irish born parents, an interesting fact, did you know he won an All Ireland U19 Hurling title with Tipperary?? Just so one day he could become a pro fighter and milk his Irish roots. Irish football team? Much like the English rugby team and cricket team? What about Dereck Chisora? Or Herbie Hide?

    Gimp.
