Here is a recent interview with Gimbatov:

Hasan, tell us, with which company did you sign the contract? Who now trains you?

GG: - I signed the contract with the German Titov's RCC promotions(Second biggest promoter in Russia). My manager is Egis CLIMAS. In addition to me, he leads such boxers as Sergey KOVALEV, Vasily LOMACHENKO, Alexander USYK and others. My new coach is Nikolai POPOV. This is an excellent specialist, who in the past also performed in professional boxing.

    - Did you have to change your place of residence?

    - No. I still live in Rostov-on-Don. But the preparation for battles takes place mainly in Yekaterinburg.

    - In the past interview of our editorial office, you said that the main goal in boxing for you is the Olympic "gold". You have not achieved this goal. So what motivated you to go to the professionals?

    - Of course, I really wanted to go to the Olympics in Rio. But, apparently, that wasn't my destiny. And to the pro ranks, I moved because there is a chance to become a world champion. I will strive for this.

    - How did your mentors, colleagues, react to the pros?

    - I have long been told that it's time to end with amateur boxing. So everyone reacted positively and supported me.

    - What changes have occurred in your training?

    - Now the training takes even more time and effort. More sparring. I also prepare for each opponent separately. With an individual approach. But that's how I like to work in general.

    - Has the psychological component - the attitude to the fight, feelings in the ring, excitement changed somehow?

    - Of course, the feelings are completely different. In the pro ranks, there are more rounds, more time to think, less fuss. The excitement does not go anywhere. It is experienced by every athlete. But when there are fans and support of relatives, it will be easier for me to cope with. everything.

    - How did you feel when you went to the first fight? Your opponent was more experienced, around a hundred, maybe thousand, of spectators. Was there any excitement about this?

    - Yes, I had both excitement and a sense of joy. On the one hand, I had to prove in front of everyone in the first battle that I did not in vain get into this ring. On the other - I was happy with this chance. In amateurs, I spent many fights on a world level, so a large number of spectators did not bother me.

    - You sent to the flooring of the ring more experienced opponent in the first round. What was the secret of your advantage?

"There is no secret." Just a long and hard training. Also, it is necessary to give my coach and team due to support and fighting spirit.

    - With whom and when do you plan to hold the next fight?

    - The next fight I will spend September 9 in Chelyabinsk. A rival will be a boxer from Georgia. I still can not name his name.

    - What heights do you plan to achieve in professional boxing?

    - Of course, I plan to win the world title.

    - Many think that when going to the pros, boxers immediately become millionaires. Tell me, did you have an improvement in your financial situation after leaving amateurs, or is it too early to talk about it?

    - Boxers, who have a good amateur career behind their shoulders, are also not poor. I can say that I am happy with my income.

    - Thank you for the conversation and good luck in the ring!

In my estimation, Gimbatov was the 2 best super-heavyweight in Russia right behind Maxim Babanin before he turned pro. Gimbatov has fought Babanin two times and has won both bouts via unanimous decision.

I really like the look of Gimbatov he looks like the complete package to me. Not sure about his stamina though. I seem to recall him gassing when he fought Joyce, but then again the pace Joyce sets cause big problems for a lot of his opponents.

I couldn't find any stoppage losses on his record when I did a search through his fights listed on the Strefa website, which seems to be a rarity when it comes to the vast majority of the elite SHWs of recent years.

All these guys have been KO'd or stopped

    Yoka
    Nistor
    Vikhrist
    Joyce
    Dychko
    Joshua
    Sirenko
Frazer Clarke (not sure if this one was a legit stoppage or on an injury)
    Eric Pfeiffer
    Yoandris Toirac
    Leinier Perot
    Jose Larduet

I can't be bothered to search through anymore but you get the picture. Hrgovic and Gimbatov are two of the few who AFAI haven''t been stopped.

    Gimbatov's pro debut

You are right, Gimbatov has never been dropped or stopped. I can add few more boxers who hasn't been stopped or dropped like Babanin(Still in amateurs), Albon Pervizaj, Michael Wallisch, Oscar Rivas, Salomon Dacre(Still in amateurs) and cruiserweight Alexey Egorov.

Interesting. I'm familiar with all of them or at least have heard their names before with the exception of Pervizaj and Dacre.

Pervizaj had huge success at junior/youth level in amateurs. He has decent size for a heavyweight as well, he is 6′3″ feet tall and so far had 4 stoppage victories in his first year as a pro, so he is one to look out for. Pervizaj is promoted by Sauerland. Salomon Dacres had a fight with Dubois where he lost but showed guts and showed great chin as well. Dacres had a great year this year, he won the English ABAE National Championships and the Great Britain Three Nations Championships in quick succession.

Very solid fighter, looked like a vet in his debut although against an over matched opponent.

Looks decent. Don't think I've seen him fight before I recognize the name now. Dubois couldn't miss with that excellent jab of his and I thought he was a clear winner. Not sure what Bunce was watching. But Dacres has potential and, yes, his chin looks very solid.
