"I can recall 16 incidents where Vitali or Wladimir’s bodies have let them down in preparation for fights. Vitali, for instance, pulled out of SIX world title fights in a three-year period, before finally having to retire." - Steve Bunce

This "sudden injury" trick , is used by many fighters I believe.

And your point? Least Vitali came back in a BIG way against Peter, and Wlad isnt the one making excuses. Haye is.

Yeah I can understand why a fighter would want to turn down millions of dollars in cash, get his reputation tarnished and put the possibility of a title fight they should never had out the window all because he "knows" he can't beat someone. Makes absolute perfect sense....

I believe the words "double standards" spring to mind, I just wish the people on this forum would show at least a millionth of the class that Wladamir shows, I am a fan of Haye so obviously my view is tainted but this calling Haye a ***** is a complete joke. He just simply wouldn't pull out of this fight for anything but a serious injury because of the money, plain and simple. Not to mention the fact that I'm sure all of us can agree Haye would have to be at 100% to even have a chance of getting near Wlad, let alone beating him.

IMO, Haye is doing this to get out of the contract. The whole damn thing wasnt in his favor to begin with. If he beat Wlad he would have to rematch him, and if he won that he would have to face Vitali. Not to mention that the location was in Germany, which holds a not so solid reputation in judging. IMHO, Haye got out of the fight because this would have not been in his best interest. Now that the contract is broken, he can renegotiate, have Klitschko all the more pissed off like he wanted, and look like the victim and Klitschko the ******* by saying "Haye ducked me!", when media reports state that Haye is injured.

Bunce exaggerated. Wlad, to my knowledge, has never pulled out of a fight. Meanwhile, Vitali has pulled out of a total of 5 fights, 4 w/ Rahman, and 1 w/ McCline all due to injury

Wlad pulled out of the David Izon fight in 01 with an injured shoulder straight off the top of my head. I'll assume you didn't mean Vitali as he is quite notorious for his pull outs. I've tried to do a little research but can't find any other fights that Wlad has pulled out of but I'm not exactly Mr. Computer or Mr. Statto so maybe someone can give you better detail. But it shows the clear hypocrisy of some of these idiots on the forum calling Haye on his injury, people get hurt and that's just the way it is, if you hadn't noticed boxing is a contact sport ;)

Should the 2 brothers be lumped in together though?

I think the thing here is the amount of noise Haye was making in securing the fight and then in the leadup and then to pull out with a deafening silence.

Disappointed the fight is not going ahead :(

Double standard has long been applied against the Klitschkos by the Klit haters. Before fights, they were predicted to be doomed (Vitali against Peter because of ring rust, Vitali against Williams because of Williams's better stamina and heart, Wlad against Peter because of Peter's power, Wlad against Iggy because he was a southpaw), when they won easily, the opponents were reduced to tomato cans. If Wlad would pull put with injury, the haters would jump all over him calling him a *****. I am not saying that Haye faked the injury, he knows that now he will have to actually earn a title shot with dangerous fights against top HW's. But I don't see too many people applying double standards agains Haye as it has been applied against the Klits.
