Disclosure: I am/was a HUGE Floyd fan. It's hard to not appreciate his calculating and currently unbeatable style. Now, however, without his ustreaming / facebooking / tweeting, I'm actually enjoying NOT hearing about him. His rants really took the luster off of what I thought was a cocky, bad-ass-in-the-ring fighter. I can honestly say that I'm not intersted in seeing him fight again. When he comes back, I know I'll pony up the dollars to watch, but I won't have the same rooting spirit for him. I'm not saying I want him to lose or get his ass beat down, but I just won't care if he does. I tend to put people up on pedestals due to their talents, but in this case, for all his talent in the ring, the out of the ring stuff has turned me off. I no longer see an emblem of hard-work / dedication. I see someone quite confused and not as classy as I had hoped. I get all the BS that goes with promoting a fight on a 24/7 show or a press conference, but to go off for your own entertainment is quite troubling and not someone I'm overly proud to be a fan of. Let's all take a moment to appreciate this quiet time away from Floyd because over-the-top "look at me" bull**** will undoubtedly find it's way back our way soon enough.
If it's unbeatable, why has been ducking fighters left and right? But your thread title is spot on: void is void
So your a huge fan but you never want to see him fight again Mayweather's so irrelavant 75% of ESB posts mention his name
You don't have to like him as a person, as a boxer his job is to fight not be liked. I, for example dislike Floyd the person but like Floyd the fighter. I'm a fan of fighters that have done worse than Floyd outside of the ring. Keyword: fighters not people.
To be called a fighter you have to fight. Fraud ducks fighters and fight old and/or smaller man and then says he lost the urge, goes on vacation, makes racist videos and beats his wife. That's called a coward, not a fighter... :deal
He fought in May against a guy I never thought he would fight. I can't defend his recent actions as I don't agree with what he did. I said his job is to fight I didn't say he's doing great with his job.
This has to be one of the feminine threads this weekend. I can't support someone as a fighter anymore because of their personal life.:|
can someone explain this to me. Floyd is so boring when he fights Is scared of pacman Doesnt care about his fans according to naysayers But that dude is the most talked about fighter even when he isnt fighting, i think you guys here in this thread can honestly admit that boxing isnt the same with out junior. He helps bring the sport to another level or keep it at one. So you al contradict on the three statements i just made
I know people act like just because fighters have millions that they have to be perfect & role models. I'm not saying that all bad things they do are okay but there are faults to everyone. If we see fighters for who they are in the ring then it makes it easier to support them. "I'm not saying I want him to lose or get his ass beat down, but I just won't care if he does"- okay if that's the case then the TS is no longer a fan of Floyd.
Exactly. People need to understand that if they have threads or avatars bashing him that still brings attention to him. He LOVES that as that still gets his name out despite his current problems. Also, if you pay for a PPV just to see Floyd get ko'd, you're helping him much more than you're hurting him as that chance is very low. I don't get why people do that. If you really dislike someone, try to ignore them.
Then you have to agree the same about *****s and their dislike for Pac right? Or does it only work one way?
the mayweathers talked too much **** before and in general we rarely heard other people say much about it. all that dislike was shelved in so to speak. until recent events surfaced. people now find the reason to say something against floyd.
